I got it the first thing this morning, played it for an hour, and got all the achievements.

That's my only complaint, though. The overall picture is that Daytona USA still holds up after 18 years, and it was more than worth the 800 spacebucks.

This was done by "AM Port Team" apparently. They've done all of the top-notch Sega ports over the last few years: VF5, After Burner, VOOT, VO4, and now this. I'm guessing they're just a subsection of AM2 or something? Dunno, but obviously they know their shit.

What makes Daytona awesome is that you can tell everyone who was working on it had the best fucking time, the game is pure polish from the little cars dancing on the link screen to the way the select music is perfectly timed to transition into the start of the game

The thing with Porsche is, EA may be hogging the license, but EA and Sega do have a business relationship now (Sega is publishing Battlefield 3 and Need for Speed: The Run in Japan, maybe other games as well), so at least they're talking to each other.

I'd kill someone to get an XBLA port of Daytona 2 with the quality of Daytona 1, though.
