Xbox 360 - How to use a Japanese one in Turkey?

A friend is wanting a 360 pretty badly, but he's worried that when he moves from 100v and NTSC Japan, back to 220v and PAL in Turkey, he will not be able to use it.

I'm pretty sure an HDTV in a PAL territory would still display properly if connected via HDMI, wouldn't it?

Also, if he just gets a converter, would he be able to use the hardware safely?

360s do the PAL conversion internally, I thought. One box for all regions, no?

You'd think so, but I'd also assume that about other boxes and be wrong. It depends on how they're handling the graphics; whether or not it would mean an extra chip, or if -not- doing it that way would mean an extra chip.

Any HDTV should handle that, is this an issue anymore actually?

As for the voltage, a transformer would do the trick.

Yes or find a UK 220v X360 PSU on ebay or something.

I would suggest buying European(in Turkey if possible) 360 brick for his 360.Voltage converters are not exactly good solution in the long run especially for something delicate as 360.Also bear in mind that they won't change the frequency(50 Hz in EU) but that shouldn't be a problem because the output is DC.
 
MS suggests plugging 360 directly into the wall socket btw

As for TV,unless he has some prehistoric TV everything will work fine.

He has a prehistoric TV, but plans to buy a new one when he moves back, so it shouldn't be a problem.
