Dr. Who bore, help me out
« on: November 03, 2011, 09:02:48 PM »
My girlfriend and I got into Dr. Who on Netflix a while back. We've watched all the episodes on Netflix, but this obviously doesn't include the last season thats coming out on DVD soon. Is there a site I can watch these for free thats not illegal? I know I could technically download them but my ISP filters Bittorrent and such traffic and actually does cut off service and sue users for infringement.

Do you have cable? The full season is still up on OnDemand.

Ive got cable, but unfortunately I live in an apartment in a college town, and the cable sucks. Its still basically coaxial with no box or such. I know the provider offers such in other cities, but they dont where I live. So I cant do on demand and they dont offer BBC channels either.

Edit:

I will say this, when I got my new tv and did the channel scan, it picked up several of their digital channels as well that aren't being filtered, so I know that at least some of those channels are there.

I've never heard it said that Project Free TV was illegal...

The only drawback is that it's all streaming, and it's sometimes in less than great quality, but it will do the trick.

Does your ISP filters out direct download sites too? like megaupload rapidshare etc?

They dont filter it out per say in that the sites are blocked, but they tag it and keep a record of you doing it.

From my snooping into the situation, they have caching servers setup to collect all traffic that you as a user send/receive.  (There is a law requiring this data for up to so many months now here for investigations from my understanding) They also tag traffic to certain sites and tag certain types of traffic. For example, PSN and XBox Live traffic are tagged as gaming.  Netflix is tagged Netflix.

So, while I could use those sites and such, we'll get a call a day or two later about it. Due to their stupid modem/router policies, I couldn't secure the modem's wireless originally when we signed up, and our downstairs neighbor connected and was downloading a ton of porn on our connection. We got in trouble for it of course, but after I explained the situation, I was given access to secure the device. Funny enough, the guy I spoke to called me back a few days later to tell me that our downstairs neighbor had just signed up for service.  Even though it technically wasn't our fault, we were warned that another notice on our account would mean immediate account suspension and our data given to the people who would need it to sue us..

Yea, my ISP is a dick.
