has bethesda ever said anything about fixing either of those issues, or even acknowledged them?  i really hope they patch it before i find the time to finally play it.

ATTENTION ALL SKYRIM PLAYERS, READ THIS POST

I've played Skyrim for 50+ hours, I've found tons of loot, fought all kinds of monsters, and been to nearly every corner of the country, so I'm feeling a bit arrogant. I've seen it all, the game just can't surprise me anymore. Dungeon variation is still nice and well-appreciated, but I've seen the different kinds. I'm feeling cocky. I was wrong.

While searching in the far north along the patch of frigid ocean near Winterhold, I found a ladder leading down to a hole in the ice, occupied by a madman. In exchange for helping him out, he agreed to find for me a particular item of great worth. I jumped at the opportunity for more questing, as is my want. He sent me to a dwarven ruin, jutting up from out a glacier. I found the sad remnants of a doomed band of adventures, having met their untimely end when the glacier closed around them. Madness took some, the Falmer took the rest. I ventured deep, past hordes of Falmer and the lifeless automatons of a dead civilization. I ventured very deep. Then I came at last to the end. The last two remaining members of the band of adventures appeared, arguing over whether to continue or to flee back to the surface in a conveniently-placed lift. Their argument came to blows, I killed both. The madman had told me to venture into depths of the world, and then go beyond even that. So I did.

At last I found it...Blackreach. My jaw hit the floor.

Two hours later, I'm still there.

i didnt read that whole post. just the initial bit and the last line. thanks for the info. i'll keep it in mind.

i did a daedric quest for boethia which netted me a suit of ebony mail. it's stronger than the regular ebony armor, looks cooler, and also makes you really quiet when you are crouched. oh and it also hurts people for 5 damage a second when they get close to you. it's badass.

Alftand? Yeh I just stumbled across that before, got to the end with Umana and that guy fighting and a dwarven contraption I couldn't use so I took the lift out of there figuring I'd come back later. Best dungeon so far, I was really in need of a crapload of soul gems and I've got 'em now. Must stay away from spoilers for this 'Blackreach' place. Sounds exciting :hyper

I finally had time to put a few more hours in. I had a quest to go to Volunruud and after a couple of cheap deaths, finally killed what I thought was final boss of the dungeon. No, that just gave me the second set of weapons to open the door. Open the door, death. Try again this time sneaking in and popping of some bow shots.... detected, death. Some ghost thing and some sort of female skeleton. I assume the ghost is Kvenel, since that is who I'm supposed to kill.
That is the first place I've gone where I have no chance to succeed at this point. I'm going to have to come back after I've become much more powerful.

22 hours in and it's definitely GOTY.

Quick switch.

Open up favorites, go to what you want, hold left for equip 1, hold right for equip 2. In mid-game tap left or right depending on your needs.

Just Double Enchanted a set of Glass armor with the intention of making it a sneak/one-handed/destruction centric set. My Chillrend (One-Handed Long Sword) hits for 118 Base damage now (up from 65 as Legendary) and my Destruction spells cost me nothing to cast (this is in conjunction with a necklace and ring with Destruction enchantments). Motherfuck!

Just made a high as possible without doing tedious back and Forth Enchanting / Potion Creation Alchemy enchantment on a set of gear. I have 4 pieces of gear with 28% increase in Alchemy ability which means I can make a fucking potion that heals me for 198 Health, a potion for One-Hand combat that'll raise the attack damage by 120%, a poison that'll paralyze someone for 24 seconds etc. I'm a fuckin' Alchemist God.

Quote
PC Skyrim has been patched, and the RAM-boosting, crash-preventing, third-party Large Address Aware (LAA) mode outlawed.

PC Skyrim, following the 18MB patch, now runs only through Steam. The LAA mode, which required some executable-file manipulation, no longer works.

The problem being that the LAA mode enabled PCs to use more than 2GB RAM, which not only helped stability, but boosted performance of the core game and the numerous mods applied on top.

The ball's in Bethesda's court.

Nice. what level are you? I never hit the level cap in Fallout 3 and I did most quests, in this I'm already lvl 33, sitting at ~70 in Archery, Smithing,  and Enchanting  and ~50 with One Handed, Light Armor, Pickpocketing, Lockpicking, Illusion and Destruction. My main skills I've got perks in are Enchanting, Light Armor, One-Handed, Archery and Sneak with a few in Destruction and Smithing, the smithing perks are totally worth it and with the AI the way it is sneak attack bonuses rule, sneak in do the damage run away, hide, rinse and repeat :lol Definitely tedious though, I'm wielding elven war axes with fire enchantments atm. They seem to dish the damage pretty good and I just sprint in with a power attack or two to mess up 99% of things I encounter.

Gonna do the quest for Azuras Black Star next. Reusable Black Soul gem :drool

No, Interplay doing the Fallout MMO [they kept the licence for that when they sold the franchise to Bethesda], but shame on you if you think that's actually ever going to come out.

you level by doing the thing you're trying to level. so buy a lot of ingots and leather strips and make a bunch of iron daggers. then put perks into smithing so you can make/improve more stuff. like ebony or daedric armor.

I saw what looked like 2 bandits fighting a horse so I ran to help and beat them both down. I loot the bandit, but the other guy was a peddler(?). oops He didn't have that much loot on though. Maybe 60 gold. Then I turn around because I'm thinking 'free horse'. Looks like it took off though. So I walk over the next hill and something hits me from behind. WTF! I turn around and it's the horse so I had to be like 'Die you ungrateful bastard!'.

i saw that earlier...was actually going to say something about how morrowind would make a logical xpac...it's all destroyed, so it wouldn't have to be as dense, and it is referred to a ton in the books. having some of cyrodiil would be pretty sweet as well.

they could make a fucking fortune on well done/thoughtful expansions of this. they said a while back that they were going to focus on bigger expansions a la shivering isles. this all has the potential to be total babies. :hyper

What's the best way to get your Enchanting up to 100?

When power leveling Enchanting I was also leveling Smithing so I would make a bunch of Iron Daggers and then Enchant all of them with Health Absorb and a Petty gem. Part of the legwork with enchanting is getting enough Petty Soul Gem and spirits to fill them (so I would go out and massacre some wildlife). I would then start enchanting 50 or so Iron Daggers to really gain some levels with Enchanting.

so those dragon priest masks you get? don't sell them. i found a place where you can put all of them in some sort of shrine. dunno what you get for doing it though.

i assume most already may know about this but if you don't wanna know where i'm talking about:

in the middle of labyrinthia there's a little dome with a skeleton, a note, and a wooden mask. put the mask on and it takes you to a room with the shrine. i only have 4 masks and i think there's like 8.

Found Dragonsbane and decided to see how much damage it can inflict when sharpened. Base Damage as Legendary is 281 and with one of my One-Hand potions its 680 or so damage. Woah.

Wish I thought of this whilst maxing out my smithing last night.

I spent 45 minutes last night running from a dragon. I tried to beat it myself failing multiple times, so I ran down into a bandit camp to get some help. I ended up running up a hill and found a spot where I could hit the dragon with my bow but he couldn't hit me. It took 5 minutes of shooting arrows but I finally defeated it on the cheap. Found a Dragonbane sword in the Blades Sky castle as well as a better armor set.
