Nah, that started with Oblivion. Morrowind had some blurps for NPCs and some important characters had VO, but not even Vivec was fully voiced.

The Khajit are bitchin' so I wouldn't mind it being in Elsweyr. Or maybe the Black Marsh. But something a bit different to Imperials/Nords/humans of the past couple of games.

Combat controls aren't nearly as bad as I thought they'd be, although I do have some qualms. Played about an hour last night, it's pretty fun

thankfully you cant screw yourself with a shitty build in this game, so you can pretty much do whatever you feel like. quests, exploring, crafting, modding, whatev. DO IT ALL

it doesnt really matter where you go, as long as you do the first few story quests so you can unlock some basic powers. youll get more quests than you can handle no matter what you do.

I go to a town and immediately get harrassed by some racist nord upset that an elf is talking to his crush. He tried to pay me to give the bitch a fake letter claiming to be from the elf. But since I'm a real dude I went straight to the elf, gave him the letter, and he gave me a fake letter framing the nord. I gave that one to the bitch, collected my reward from the elf, and went about my way.

Already got asked to join the Imperials but I'll hold out and see who the other factions are. BTW do towns show some variety later? The two I've been to pretty much looked the same.

Finished the gold claw quest or whatever, then made my way to Whitetree. Nice, big town. Think I'm going to help the Grey-Mane's since the Battle-Borns sound like dicks. And some black guy wants me to find his dad's old sword.

Every town has at least one annoying kid lmao. How come I can bait them to leave town with me and then kill them, so the guards won't find out

Killed a dragon brehs. Shot it with a few arrows before deciding to stand in front of it and shoot fire. Then I realized I was getting burned alive, but I still managed to kill it before I died. Now I have a shout

haven't used her yet though. So many quests. I wish there was a mini map. The compass can be a bit confusing.

I'll look that shit up today, I keep un-toggling things. I took run off auto somehow, now it's mapped to the caps lock button; I don't have to hold the button down but it's annoying having the caps lock light on my keyboard.

I like the immersion of the game. Names are starting to stick which makes the story work. Btw is it possible to kill everyone in town, including important NPCs like a Jarl? Better yet if you kill someone in their home will anyone find out. I don't plan on killing anyone, just curious. Seems like all the guards know if you do something wrong even if they weren't there. For instance when Whiterun's Jarl gave me his axe and made me a Thane, I had too much shit on me. So I threw a couple weapons on the ground so I could run again. As I was trying to leave a guard started fucking with me. I told him to blow dicks and left the building, then another guard stopped me. He left me alone once I told him I was a Thane though.

theres also some weird system in place where you can kill someone and someone else will take over their shop. like their spouse or cousin or whatever will show up, complete with their own dialog. i havent seen it much cuz i dont really kill npcs, but its a pretty cool feature/failsafe.

Last night I went on a quest to save this black chick from a group of black dudes trying to take her to Hammerfall. Got into their lair, killed a bunch, then realized the boss had like 10 buddies so I decided to instead help him capture the chick. Lied to her, led her to the tables and gave her up for 500 gold. Felt kinda bad.

I need to learn a profession or something. Can you cook stuff that heals you?

IIRC, homegirl sold the motherland out for 30 pieces of silver to a group of pseudo-religious/nationalist zealots, got the fuck out of dodge, then when she saw the writing on the wall, tried to manipulate you into saving her skin. So fuck her.

Enjoying my first playthrough on pc. Redguard thief/mage with an emphasis on illusion/sneak/destruction. Better Magic and Apocalypse-Magic of Skyrim are fucking great. Also figured out that you can adjust the third person camera. After owning this game for 2 and a half years on console. I'm a fucking idiot.

Just met a werewolf and had some animal god task me with assassinating him

and I was chilling when I saw some Imperial soldiers leading a guy to execution. They were dicks to me so I armed the Stormcloak and killed the guards...then he didn't even say thank you, he just ran away. Fucking feg.

Does difficulty scale based on your level, or are there high level zones like WoW or Diablo?

There's not a lot of level barriers in the game, but skilling up some weapons does help.

ohh speaking of carriages, I turned down a ride yesterday. And then that night I ran across some bandits that had seemingly killed the guy and stolen his supplies. Took them out and stole the horse, but being a dumbass I got off it and dealt with some other dudes...the horse ran away.

They left me one lockpick, which I broke while trying to escape

so I just laid down and went to sleep

Guards follow you inside houses if:

1. they see you sneak into a locked house and you set off their in game alarm to chase you

2. someone in the house saw an intruder during late hours, which summons guards.

BTW how does the Witcher 2's combat compare to Skyrim's? As I said the combat isn't as bad as I assumed, but it also feels slow/unresponsive at times. Sometimes it feels great, other times I feel like I'm fumbling about.

You need to play to play with the controls the game was designed for: a gamepad. Also, Witcher 2's slaughters Skyrim. Witcher 2 is a slightly challenging game and many of its encounters play out kinda like puzzles. It's much more balanced and structured than Skyrim's.

Witcher 2's combat is much, much better than Skyrims. Witcher 2 is a more direct game, and more linear. Skyrim has great archery, but everything else sucks.

brehs I bought a new 2H orc weapon that is dope, and also went through the blacksmith training thing. Now it's just a matter of finding mats. I wish you could mine in this game like WoW. Would definitely make finding mats easier than hoping they drop off enemies. Although I read some tips of places where some ignots spawn (Riverwood blacksmith area...you can get 5 steel ignots from the ground).
