Here's hoping they let you WARP in Jak 2 and it will be a perfect game.

Uncharted 3 must have really bombed after that 8/10, Naughty Dog and Sony in need of some quick cash.

Wait so just one good game? Most useless collection ever.

There's a good one?

I love these collections, they serve as a friendly reminder how awful most of them are.

Splinter Cell Collection has been out... no need for an inferior series

so this is just a trilogy?

Jak and the Lost Frontier is baaad but I'd want Daxter in HD.  I never played Jak X because there's that too.

I only played the first Jak game but it was a stupid pile of shit with no redeeming qualities.  The other ones looked worse.

Jak 1 is pretty overrated. It only gets good until like the last quarter of the game.

the original jak is a nice if somewhat bland and short platformer

it's jak 2 that is awful with it's sudden gain of "TUDE" and racing segment and guns and shit that shouldn't be there in the first place

Didn't play enough of jak 2 to remember it properly, but I do remember not liking it very much. Jak 1 was one of my favorites at the time. outside of Crash Team Racing it's my favorite thing Naughty Dog has done. Love the look of the world and the various areas and characters, the controls give you great mobility and I thought the platforming was really fun. The only thing I didn't like was the swamp area because I always ended up getting lost since the game doesn't have a map system.

But I have a soft spot for plain early 3D platformers, ala vexx  :-[

Jak 1 is great
Jak 2 is greatest

I own but still haven't gotten to Jak 3

I'm all over this collection.

Jak 2 has some of the most challenging AWESOME platforming out there combined with excellent action.  The city hub is annoying, but everything else is fantastic.

don't know if we've had an HD collection yet that had more than one good game in it

yeah, about that, I'd like to apologize for pimping ICO all these years, boy howdy

vacuous level design meets non-existent combat for a game-long escort quest ... what was artfag me thinking

Wtffffff

Replaying both games:
Ico > SoTC

Ico holds up better because platform adventure holds up a lot more than a mid 2000-era action game.  The level design is still as amazing today.

Nope. Majority of the "rooms" you don't even explore. It's white space. Same with SOTC. What does having a giant empty field accomplish? Nothing. It's a chore.

ya.  It's essentially a ps1 game in terms of gameplay.  2 and 3 are good though.

SotC has problems (pacing, emptiness of the field) but the core boss fights still hold up completely. ICO, on the other hand, has been completely superseded by every platforming game that followed improving on its mechanics, combat, and level design. yes the castle was amazing in 2001 but it's 2011 now and Fumito Ueda didn't invent "A and B actually connect," just parlayed it into a 3 2 game career.

that's surprisingly accurate

but I still like Ico.  It was really the turning point when 'realistic' platformers became fun for me.  Didn't like Tomb Raider on PS1, but the PoP and TR series post-Legend are amazing.
