Gonna use the money to get an i7 and a new motherboard. I can just play Wii games on the PC anyway, no sense in keeping a console around when I don't even use it.

Basically, is there anything I need to know about accounts and downloaded games and such?

You might as well kiss your games goodbye, that's what you should do. You can back your games up to card, but it won't really matter since you dont plan on using a Wii console.

Since the Wii U is shaping up to be a colossal disaster, I just need a Wii to play Mario Galaxy 1, 2, NSMB Wii, and Sin and Punishment 2 if it is still around and at a low price used.
