Another show this season that shows some promise is K. It's hard to tell exactly where the story is going, except that there's two factions using supernatural powers to fight for control of some futuristic city and the main character is caught between them. The characters themselves are...cool, but that's really it so far. However, the animation is fantastic, almost movie-quality, which is incredible considering it just a TV series and corners often get cut hard and fast. This actually has background motion and very few shots that are just pans across a still frame, stuff's constantly moving around. The art is really great, too, very futuristic and stylish. The soundtrack really stands out, too. It definitely is hitting the right notes for me in a lot of ways, hopefully the story kicks in soon and is interesting and the characters don't just exist to be cool but flat. I can see some otaku-baiting going on, but it isn't nearly enough to really hurt the show.
Feels a bit like Durarara!! mixed with Darker Than Black.
