Daily Lives of High School Boys

A much better series than I ever expected it would be. It's basically a high school slice of life show, but with mostly male characters and a greater tendency towards absurdist humor [ala KyoAni's Nichijou]. I think it's actually consistently funnier than Nichijou, even if it doesn't quite get AS funny as Nichijou's best scenes. One thing that really stands out to me as that nearly every female character in the series is either psychotic, violent, or both, which is incredibly fresh in an industry increasingly dominated by innocent, demure young girls who are always polite and friendly. If you wanna laugh, this is the show you should be watching. Plus, there aren't many animes with acoustic guitars in the soundtrack.

Out of every subjective thing, humour is up there as very much so. I like the way Kobayashi Jin tells jokes. A lot of them seem to stem from his real life

Excel saga was one of the most disappointing anime ever. First five eps are amazing. Everything after that aside from the baseball ep and the final episode sucks or is average.

School Rumble and Working are great too, but both verge into questionable satire area. At times you can't tell if it's lampooning stuff like ichigo 100% or becoming ichigo 100%

10 students get sent to a derelict spaceship as part of their training to become members of the intergalactic elite, only to find that there's a mysterious eleventh member of their group. The focus here is on the isolation of the group and their paranoia over who the eleventh person might be, all while they try to work their way through a serious of increasingly dangerous situations. One thing that really makes this movie stand out is that it's a scifi story created by a shoujo artist, which lends it to focusing more on the characters than on exciting action. Overall, it's a really good movie and the sort of scifi anime that doesn't come along very often [or, really, more than once].
