Episode 2 of Gargantia really sold me on the show. Not to say that I didn't like the first episode, but the second basically has got me committed to the rest of the series. It showed this lighter, more adventurous spirit that's lacking in shows these days. It's either grim dark action show or meaningless fluff, without much inbetween. Anime like Ghibli's Nausicaa or Gainax's Nadia, going to cool places and doing awesome things. The art style is really great, lots of detail in the rusted, pieced-together world of the future and the characters designs are appealing without being cutesy. And all the little details are nice, like the wing pack that Amy uses or how communication between the two sides is still handled through an interpreter. It's really good.
