My kid is watching YuGiOh right now on hulu. I watched some when I was younger and enjoyed it but never watched much past the duelist kingdom stuff. We just got done with the Kaiba vs Yugi duel in the battle city semifinals and wow

It's an actual fun anime with nice art/animation that won't make you feel like a pervert. And in an industry that's increasingly dominated by the latter and absent the former, such shows should be applauded when they actually come along.

It's good, has very stylish GREAT animation, is non-pretentious, is non-creepy-fucking-pedo, and it's short enough to not overstay its welcome.

Is it the best anime? No, but it's a good watch and I'd rather have a 100 more animes like it, than 99% of the crap that comes out every season.

Read Volume 6 of Flowers of Evil yesterday. Wow. The previous few volumes had been kind of annoying to be honest what with it practically turning into a harem book, but volume 6 sees some actual consequences to the acts that had been perpetuated. It feels like a penultimate volume rather than just another ongoing volume. I have no idea where this is going and the fact that the series is continuing is somewhat worrying because when it doesn't just drag it feels like the author is making it up as he goes rather than reaching for an overall arc or theme.

Today in the special premiere night event for the "Kara no Kyoukai: Fukan Fuukei 3D" movie (theater release July 12th), it was announced that ufotable will make a new anime based on the visual novel "Fate/stay Night" which depicts the Fifth Holy Grail War. Previously, the visual novel was adapted into the TV anime series "Fate/stay night" in 2006 and movie "Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works" in 2010, both animated by Studio Deen. A PV was also run during the event and will be shown along with the "Kara no Kyoukai: Fukan Fuukei 3D" movie in theaters. The news was also confirmed by a twitter by Kondo Hikaru, CEO of ufotable.

ah i see what you mean but there is less survival drama than you'd think and more "whodunnait" a-la detective conan and the like (at least if it doesn't stray much from the source material) there are also tons of plot twist which is what it made it so engaging for me

the ending is super stupid though
