this isn't the first time i read an old ass manga where a kid dies an horrible death, old ass manga are serious stuff

the ending is a downer too "yup! humanity is fucked, THE END!"

you know i feel like i've done a disservice to this manga by calling it "a punchy thing manga" because there is like 2 fight in the whole manga, it's more of a mix of an horror manga and an incredibly bleak pessimistic dystopian manga, in the end it's humanity itself that goes crazy at the horror of the demon wars rather than the actual demon murdering everybody, i tought that was a nice way to turn it into something different from the usual manga's

Devilman is like nothing compared to some of the crazy shit Nagai did later on. For example, there's Hanappe Bazooka (which got an OVA made...somehow), which is about an Urusei Yatsura Moroboshi-level pervert, who starts beating off to porn and inadvertently-summons two demons. Demon #1 (weird looking big fat green guy) then proceeds to have his way with Hanappe's mom and demon #2 (weird looking semi-furry female) has her way with his sister. Fat demon then makes Hanappe's dad mega-rich, so he forgets about the sexual escapades and buys himself a harem, and Hanappe is granted...a magic finger that's supposed to make people want to fuck him if he shoots them. Pretty much everyone remains naked for the most part and "wacky hijinx" ensue, so I guess it's like a really fucked-up Urusei Yatsura.

And this is one of the tamer Nagai stories.

EDIT: My bad, I see that Go Nagai did the artwork and the story is from Kazuo Koike...who did stuff like Madbull 34 and Crying Freeman. Makes sense now.

Somehow I forgot about that.

Dororon Enma-kun also has a character that appears to be nude, except for a mask/hat, and is probably way too young to be depicted that way. The thing to keep in mind here is that Nagai was doing a lot of this shit in the 1970s, so there was a lot of controversy/opposition to it.

EDIT: And I see from googling that he did a Dororon Enbi-Chan comic in the early 2000s, with an older -and still nude- version of the character

It's long, but really good. Strays a bit from canon, but if you're gonna obsess over Gundam canon, you've got problems.

i've found a site which host torrent of several complete and some times somewhat rare manga, so i've been browsing that

and i found a manga called hoshi mamoru inu... you know how everytime a movie wants to be really fucking sad, they decide to kill the dog and it's like the worst thing ever to the point they made a site that answer whetever a dog dies in a movie or not?

now imagine if they made the saddest manga about dog dying and... there you have it! it's a super downing manga

Space Dandy season 2 in a couple minutes~

TBH I thought the first season was mostly just going through the motions, trying to find its place. I really disliked the first episode (probably made a post about it here) but there were sparks of brilliance to be found later on. The time loop episode and the zombie episodes were fantastic.

JoJo's Part 3 was released on digital in a surprise AX announcement and I grabbed the first volume. That shit is insane. I watched the anime to see if it's similar and it's essentially a panel for panel remake.
