Finally got around to watching GITS: Arise...
I mean, it's not bad, but it really lacks identity and there didn't seem to be any sort of overarching story or philosophical motivation behind the political side of things. Motoko's character is fairly well done though, with a believable level of recklessness and naivety (not much, but just enough) given she's younger. You can understand some of her events being partly why she's the cynic we see in SAC.
FWIW, the first episode is pretty good, but should've been the launchpad as opposed to being the best of the four.
