this game doesn't exist, too bad the setting of xenoblade is

"evil robot burned the main character village, now he must go kick their ass
BECAUSE THEY ARE EVIL!"

what's worse, the character are supposed to be on top of a giant robot yet the game never seems to do anything to take acknowledgement of this until this fact has to mash with the fact that EVIL ROBOTS! you are on the knee and it's a huge plain and really that's it! then you get to the top by reaching a marsh? what the heck? do the character ever end up climbing something? i think my favourite part is when they find a sea on top of the giant mech, you know what i would expect to see on top of the giant mech?

THE FUCKING TOP OF THE GIANT MECH!

they might have scrapped the whole idea and not a single thing would have changed,so yeah, settings suck

I played both, I think it's better than FF12 International. Honest opinion as a huge Final Fantasy fan.

Agreed, even with all the stuff they added to FF12 International (which should have been in the original game to begin with, and it's stupid they didn't put it there), Xenoblade is just on a different level. It streamlines so much of what FF12 established.

doubt this is better than ff12

would rather play ff12: international

it screw less thing in the miscellaneous department (like giving the player decent loot instead of a chest with 2 GIL) the combat is better in that it involve less time staring at a screen like an idiot but it's worse in that you don't have a lot of control over it (there aren't even items to use) and get super easy once your healer gets strong enough, the plot is a different kind of awfull, where FF12 just squander around with nothing interessing happens, xenoblade start decent enough but by the end it follows the jrpg plot flow chart to a level where you start to think picking another favourite genre

the character all have their specialized role but it's really hard to not be tempted by the attacker-tank-healer squad and the other character just end up as extra luggage

both games have special named enemies to fight but in xenoblade most of the time they boil down to the same fight you would have had with a normal monster had he been a few level higher, while that fucker in FF12 who healed himself to full and then started spamming blaster was incredibly cheap at least you had to think of a way to cheap him out,one thing that i hate a lot is that in xenoblade if you are 6 level below a monster 90% your attack against it will automaticaly miss

the bestiary also sucks,a lot of rpg recolors their monster (including FFXII) so you might think "ehy what's the deal" but trust me,it has never been done on the same level as here, prepare yourself to see the same ants and bats and rabbits over and over and over

unlike final fantasy XII there are quest a-la wow like "bring me 3 rabbit paws" but solving them can be a huge pain in the ass, while the drop are rather generous and therefore you never end up spending too much time getting the required items, the city are pretty big and each NPC has a schedule that he follows so finding an NPC can be a nightmare, you get some info about where and when to find them but this info is all scattered and hard to navigate because it's put in a messy UI

TL;DR version

i don't think you would like it more than FFXII,you seems to like FFXII more for control freak reasons like "i can make vaan a mage and penelo a warrior" and you'll have nothing like that here, also there is no yasumi matsuno plot, generic plot flow chart is what expect you

but if you just want another plain walking simulator go ahead and walk to your content :smug

The "Yasumi Matsuno plot" does nothing when he left halfway through and FFXII just falls apart. Don't act like FFXII doesn't have fucktons of recolors and palette swaps, and a good deal of the Hunts and sidequests are even more boring and generic than Xenoblade's.

The NPC scheduling thing is at least realistic -- you can't expect everyone to be where you want them to be every time. That's called immersion.

I'm not sure if magus is defending, complaining about either Xenoblade or Final Fantasy 12, as if any of those complaints are exclusive to either game.

it's the combination of the city being big + them having a schedule that make the whole package a pain in the ass,go to the gamefaqs board and half of the thread on it will be "where i can find NPC XXX"

I watched my friend swim in water. he had to pretend his wiimote was a sailboat and the air was a bathtub and he sailed through the ocean as Link, swimming towards a weird cross between jellyfish and seahorses.

Didn't put the game in a positive light in the least bit.

There's no waggle in Xenoblade. Plays just fine with Wiimote/Chuck as well.

We should also clarify that Operation Rainfall will continue to campaign for the release of The Last Story and Pandora's Tower while putting a heavy focus on ensuring that Xenoblade Chronicles exceeds sales expectations.

We would like to thank Takahashi-san and Monolith Soft for creating this beautiful adventure, and all the support from our fans and followers for sticking by our crazy campaign ideas to reach out to Nintendo.

We also want to give a very special thanks to Nintendo for not only acknowledging the fans, but listening and bringing this amazing title to the American region.

One down, two to go! Have a great weekend everybody!

man i can't wait for this to bomb! :-[

It won't be a bomb if they just sell a small shipment, which is what they look like they're planning to do. They're doing an incredibly smart Atlus tactic here to gauge interest, to prevent a bomba.

Assuming they're probably going for a super small shipment, that wouldn't be a problem for Nintendo.

i'm not sure you really understand how making money works

not even atlus makes money under 10k

they're clearly biting a (small) financial bullet for whatever reason here

Eh, they might have broke even on the Euro version and this is just a recycling of that. All they have to do is tuck some pinkies in when people drink tea and make the discs, can't imagine that costs much.
