anybody cares?

It's a Wii game, so it's pretty safe to assume not.

ehy at least i tried!

it seems you can't play as mario or dragon quest character and are stuck using your shitty mii at least in single player, wtf nintendo? :duh

for the curious, mario character includes mostly the usual mario kart/mario party crew (the most notable one is probably birdo) there is also a mario galaxy board

dragon quest character includes

DQ: slime and platypunk
DQ2: princess of moonbroke
DQ4: alena and kiryl
DQ5: bianca
DQ6: carver
DQ8: jessica, angelo and the kid version of yangus
DQ9: that annoying fairy of which i can't remind the name

saw a screen shot on gaf where the slime was all like "hee hee, my first ploperty!". Probably not worth buying and playing the game for that considering the screen shot still clear in my mind's eye.

If you played this once, you've played it every time.

you know i was really curious to try this as it was one of those series that never left japan but here's the thing, this game is monopoly if you jacked the luck factor by a good 50% and that's awfull! i can see someone like van cruncheon having an heart attack playing this game! how the heck as this gotten so much popular? from what i understand it didn't even start with dragon quest/final fantasy/mario character

Is this series popular in Japan? I know several people with a Wii, and this is the first I've heard of it.

this is actualy the 8th game in the series so i'd say it is
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itadaki_Street

the 5th and 6th game are for ps2 and psp and feature dragon quest & final fantasy characters
but for the 7th (for the DS) and this one they switched the final fantasy character for super mario characters
