I love how Pitchfork has all these indie hipster bands in their poll and then they have fucking Beyonce and Drake in there  :lol

I heard that arabMUZIK group is basically slowed-down 90's epic trance, I do want to check them out sometime. I heard Bon Iver on Colbert Report one day and they were horrible, RA top 50 tracks is much more my stylee than Pitchfork I guess.

It's an attempt to be inclusive.  The Beyonce album is legit, though.

I think my entire list is in that top 50.  smh

It's obviously a final cash grab from her label, but not bad for a bunch of leftovers.  I enjoyed it.

Really like the song with Nas, in particular.

Tieso, it always amazes me how you list the most commercial dance trite next to genuine good underground house and Techno.

Also this page is kinda broken in Firefox for me, probably too many Youtube vids.

I don't really care if something is commercial or not, though I have a lot of friends who are all super-l33tist with their dance music selections... I got my start listening to 90's eurodance so I have an appreciation for some cheese!  8)

i don't think i listened to much new music this year.
i definitely played the hell out of these:

pure x - pleasure

elite gymnastics - ruin 1&2

fovea hex - here is where we used to sing

motion sickness of time travel - luminaries & synastry

young galaxy - shapeshifting

worthy mentions:

gang gang dance - eye contact

james pants - james pants (worst cover art of the year?)

elite gymnastics - neu! '92

curren$y - weekend at burnie's (gonna check out the curren$y that phoenix dark posted now)

from this thread i wanna check out Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and a bunch of stuff that Eric P posted (if only because of the cover art).
thx

i haven't heard any of their earlier stuff. apparently this one is quite different but it's great.
produced by d. lissivik of swedish duo studio (wish they would release something new) so it's pretty sunny and the bottom end is gorgeous.

4. Curren$y - Covert Coup
(Image removed from quote.)
this is real great so far. the second track w/ Prodigy is awesome.
still think Weekend at Burnie's wins though. i love how cohesive the beats on that album are.
