Renegade Ops is fun, but every single time I play it the sound cuts off in the middle of a mission, and the only way to fix it is to reboot the game. Which is really annoying. I also don't like how you have to level up. That just makes me want to use 1 character until he's maxed out and never touch the other ones.

Nice win!

I'm not really sure what I'd do if I won something that's actually worth $$ but I already had it.  Would try to trade someone else in a similar position and if that doesn't work, just keep it around as a birthday/xmas gift for close friends.

You can try discount straight up cash trades.  Like "If you buy me this game for $20 on my wishlist, I'll give you Witcher 2 for it" so you're essentially selling the game for X amount of dollars.

Also it seems like everyone is starting to get games again today.  Wonder if they ran out of games/coupons and just restocked their supply.

Does the pack include Tropico 4?

Tried out the Hard Reset demo. That game seems potentially awesome, so I'm gonna buy it. But it sucks that enabling vsync seems to lock the game to 30 fps.

Now I just need Serious Sam 3.

The CrimeCraft cheev was actually surprisingly fun. There's minimal BS, you just register an account, and then jump in a round of Snow Brawl and start throwing snow balls at people (although I recommend remapping the snowball throwing button from F1 to something like RMB). I easily got the achievement in 2 five minute rounds. No tutorial levels, no overworld, no trying to get a party together, no coordinating with your teammates, no randomness, just tossing snowballs, getting cheevs. Would I play the game again? No, of course not. But compared to the Spiral Knights and Rise of the Immortals lame-o achievements, it was a breath of fresh air.

Wow, I just launched Skyrim and can't believe how good it looks compared to the trashy PS3 version I saw. My RoG runs it at decent settings and smooth fps as well, and I haven't even installed the performance mod yet. It also supports game-pads even though the store page doesn't indicate it.

My first Elder Scrolls title, people. (Oblivion doesn't count)

The coupons only make sense if you could use them during the sale or they lasted for at least a year. Why would you wait until January or February to use a 33% off coupon a game that's probably 50%+ off right now? :derp

it's less intensive with less impressive results, but weighing the cost versus the benefit, it's nice.  I have a vague understanding of it, that it's like a post-processing filter of sorts, like MLAA.

yeah, I use it in games that support it.  I'm glad nvidia is alpha testing system wide FXAA (and frame capping) for future drivers, and for a while there have been other ways to get it working in unsupported games.

I care most about performance, but I like my games looking nice too.

I think I'm a Crimecraft snowball savant.  I got 27 kills in one game.  At one point I had a 8 kill streak.

lol more coal  :'(

seriously, I got 16 or 17 gifts so far.  13 coal and coupons to games I already own.  fuck this shit.  I'm writing a letter apologizing to Comcast for wasting bandwidth on crimecraft.

Played the first two levels of Hard Reset (on Hard). Seems pretty good, but it's more of a consoley shooter than I was expecting, with its two weapon limit and linear, corridor style level design. It also has full 360 pad support and 50 achievements that total up to 1000 points... I wonder if a console version was planned and canceled. Either way, it still has fun combat, and it runs perfectly on my PC (60 fps with most settings maxed). Worth the $5 at least.

technically it has like eight or ten shooting modes divided in the two ammo and energy weapons once you upgrade.  the corridor style levels are odd because they're not meant for speedruns, and there aren't wide enough corridors like painkiller.

there is an 'extended edition' or something planned for retailers with extra levels and whatnot.  there was a thread on gaf about it; don't know if that's coming in a patch.

I think they're just trying to encourage people to buy stuff outside of sales in a traditionally slow period.

Really fucking annoyed the Football Manager 2012 achievement is only available on Xmas eve/day and boxing day. I won't be near my pc :(

Nothing for me unless I pick up X3 for the cheevo (and because it's a pretty space sim for $5).

Would pick up Nuclear Dawn but someone said it'll be in an upcoming indie bundle that I'm sure I'll buy since I buy them all.

I tested the new layout with a gift but it's not showing as either in http://steamcommunity.com/my/inventory#pending_gifts (view history).

so, steam sales = next valve game.  cool.

I'm all for them focusing on steam, it's just sad when people think they are about making video games these days.  it's time to face the facts.  Do you want Valve games or massive amounts of other games sold via Valve?

Yeah, I just noticed this after playing more. I thought the rest of those weapons were ones you would find on each level, but as it turns out you just buy the upgrade and it allows your gun to morph into something else ala Vanquish. So yeah you can carry like 10 weapons at a time, which is awesome.

Only other complaint I have is that enemies can feel a little bullet spongey on hard, and it would be nice if they reacted more when getting shot. This game is making me want to play Rage actually since I've heard that game is good about that.

I got bulletstorm and bastion (lost 10 cents because I didn't buy it when it was a daily deal a few weeks back  :'( )

Considering rock of ages.  I remember the demo on the xbox but it seemed part tower defense.  I think anything over $5 that I won't play now is a pass, like Sonic, Alice, etc.
