Tomorrow is our last day of work tho. The best thing is that we get a bunch of sweets and stuff from labs, specialists, etc for the holiday. And since most of the people at the office are on a diet, I get to take most of it

Don't know if I'm gonna work but I've got 40+ gifts to wrap by saturday morning. Saturday night I have to cook dinner for the misses' family. Then we're driving to fresno to see my grandfather and I'll be cooking again on christmas night. Its the first year since my grandmother passed and I'm his only blood relative left. So its gonna be pretty hard on him.

just a normal weekend for me, working through friday, gotta go back in on monday

i get to eat twice on christmas, though, so that's nice

i might have everything at work wrapped up by thursday of next week, so i might take the 30th and the 2nd off, but if not i have a bunch of free time coming up next month

this month was oddly busy, so i have enough to carry me over january (bad part is i don't get paid for any of it until new year's weekend so no holiday partying/spending for me )

I have 118 projects that I need capitalized or I lose those funds next year.  Oh here you go Edward!  5 days worth of work on top of the double workload you've been averaging the last two weeks from all the other lazy people and can you get it done by tomorrow because I'm going on vacation while you'll still be here!"  Yay for not taking care of responsibilities and not caring who it fucks over when you go on vacation! YAY!

Sometimes I'll get someone trying to dump their fucked-up Word or Excel documents on us because they're full of errors and not formatted correctly.  And luckily I don't have to do that shit since we're just their lowly level 1 tech support and we're not gonna do their work for them.

Still expecting something STUPID to happen at the end of today, if not tomorrow (when it should be dead).  I almost had something like that happen yesterday, but after showing the caller how to fix their document, the call was over.  Too many people try to dump their work onto us and are surprised when we tell them we can't do their work for them.  Not my fault that you ignored your training, don't use firm-specific tools/addins, and don't even know what a "format painter tool" is.

We've been getting calls today from one firm with people who don't even know how to look up the instructions to access their voicemail messages.  How the fuck do these people manage to win cases in court??

  Sounds a lot like my job.  But most of the time when they make dumb mistakes like that it's not on me.  I get to shrug and send it back.  No stress.  But if they send me a shitload of work and their documentation is correct then welp, I better get cracking because if it's not done that shit is on me

Still fairly busy, but one of the two biggest firms my team supports is closing early in 30 minutes.  Brought my 3DS with me and have been playing RE The Mercenaries inbetween calls.

DONE!  This week just dragged the fuck on.  Things slowed down a lot after lunch, plus some weird glitch had me available for calls/email but they would be routed to the other people on my team instead.     I played 3DS for an hour before we realized it.  Only got like two calls after that  although one was pretty damn long.  Fortunately it ended 10 minutes before my shift was over and we  got to leave a whopping TWO MINUTES EARLY!

Isn't it all just considered part of the winter holidays along with Kwanzaa and New Year's?  Chanukah is not a high-holy holiday in the Jewish religion BTW.  Never heard of anyone taking all eight days off before.  Sounds like dude used his vacation time up is all.

We get so much shit that we have to raffle it all off. But I work for the largest company in the industry, so that's to be expected. I work at a smaller division of the parent company, so tons of people won stuff since we have so few employees compared to the rest of the company. My last jobs, we didn't get shit, so this has been great.

yeah, along with abusing his power to lord over poor kids who are working for chump change.  he's one of those guys who's ONLY in the position he's in because of his age and years he has stacked up in the business.  he's also one of those bosses who relishes in the fact that he's "above" other people, truly a despicable person, he'd never step up to take an entry job somewhere else even for better pay because he wouldn't be able to get his rocks off torturing kids...well, that and the fact that his bullshit wouldn't be tolerated in any sort of serious environment.

Vacations started last night at 12:30 a.m.! we got an email yesterday from the gringos saying they are not gonna work till january meaning the office won't be getting any work next week, why management doesn't do a collective holiday leave is beyond me.
