Kumite is using unique character builds, and since you can't see those online you probably shouldn't be able to see them offline. Makes sense... kinda... but is stupid, yeah.

Guilty Gear is the most technical and deep 2d fighter. I'd say it's pretty comparable to VF. I prefer VF because it's more accessible and relies more on strategy than inputting two dozen commands within 1 second like GG.

Guilty Gear has an absurd number of sub-systems and advanced techniques, but I'm not sure it translates to a "deeper" fighting game. The core of it isn't all that much different than MvC3, really: the offense is overwhelming and defense is essentially guesswork.

There's no complete version that I saw.

There's also not one, but two DLC packs- so it's $45 for the full game.

I'm just buying the custom parts for my main, who is currently Sarah, for $5.

I bought the complete version. With PSN discounts it's still be $24 ($12 & $12 for the DLC) or I can pay $30 and know I get it forever even after unsubscribing from PS+, so I went for the $30 set.

The worst part is having to download and install all of the character packs separately

I bought the complete edition. Hope I get a refund from PSN for buying the game twice...if not it's still the same price as buying both DLC packs anyway. I got owned!

And yeah, all those packs to download. Hope I get to play this game TONIGHT.

Since I'm double-dipping, I hope that the 360 is getting a complete edition too- $60 for a game on two platforms works for me.

Rocking the ever loving fuck out of this game AHHHHHHHH. I love how you can choose to use VF1/VF2/VF3/VF4 music instead. Fuckin crazy. Playing on my Tekken 6 Hori stick that I got for $20 in some Amazon fire sale.

BTW I played both PS3 and Xbox versions extensively and I kinda think Xbox has a superior MSAA solution.

Still haven't bit on the customization packs but I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Sounds like they are building this off the VF5 console versions. Both were identical there except Xbox had superior AA.

If X-box has better AA, great... but the PS3 version still looks good for a downloadable title on 2005-based hardware ported to a 2007 based hardware.

I also gotta sit down and put some time into the dojo/training mode. I'm just mashing PPPP/PPPK/PK/PPK and attempting to go for throws and failing online.

yeah, it looks nice on PS3. Never played the 360 version of VF5 to compare. After vanilla VF4 on PS2 I'm just happy the game isn't some jaggy nightmare.
