There isn't any money in making old games compatible with a new CPU architecture. Downloadable games aren't easier to convert than disc-based games.

I've been playing PC games for 25 years and I'm still getting a PS4 for first-party exclusives. Multiplatform games I'll get for PC, but that's no different from the current gen.

Code is the same of course.If digital works,retail works.But that is not our problem,the problem is that both MS and Sony are unwilling to spend money on bunch of BC coders/testers.

If they can get digital games running, retail naturally follow since both system can read their predecessors' formats.

You'd have better luck begging the publishers and devs to re-release their PC ports on the PS4 and X-box. There you have a case in regards to "x86."

There are very few 16-bit Windows games and if you have to install one on a 64-bit system you can sometimes install it inside a virtual box and then copy over the installed files to your real system. For some reason 16-bit installers are more common even though the games themselves aren't 16-bit.

Gamestop and Amazon have an interesting deal going on for Xbox.  If you buy the Xbox 360 version of a game, you can trade it in and upgrade to the Xbox One version for $10.

The latest rumors are that PS4 is launching in October, Xbox One in November (?).  Because gamers are junkies who can't wait two weeks for the XBO, they might break and buy the PS4.

It's already got better games than the WiiU will ever have, so nope.

And even if I'm not feeling MGS Rising, I really hope that Platinum rumor turns out to be false. I really don't want to end up buying an Xbone for a few Japanese exclusives that MS will never follow up with. Learned my lesson with the 360, after Vesperia that system turned into a wasteland for the kind of games I'm into.

That's risky.

The catassing contingency are going to play and return things as many times as they can get away with it. If there are Origin achievements, they'll do it just for those. I guess it won't cost EA anything in physical goods, and maybe it will give them more robust "sales" (total downloads) figures, but this seems like a bad idea.

eh you can only return it 24 hours after you first load it up. i doubt theres that many people out there who can or will marathon most games in a single day.
