PS3/360. shit leaked, no real details. rumors say Leon + Chris with Ada in there somewhere . another rumor said it was PS3 exclusive, so..

I have to admit I'm curious as to if the series will get worse and worse every entry like Zelda now that all the creative staff has left, or if there will be surprises, like "every 3rd entry somehow turns out awesome!"

If 3DS and this turn out worse than RE5, yikes. Fingers crossed both or one of them turn out better.

goddammit son, re5 wasn't some groundbreaking masterpiece like re4, but it was still a huge game that was packed with loads of fantastic content. zelda was great long ago, but every game released in the passed ten years has been, at best, "it was pretty fun BUT..." quality. and that but has just gotten bigger and bigger over the years (teehee). please dont equate the two.

Eh, I've said my piece on RE5 here a plenty. To me, it was the worst RE game to date, even worse than RE3/CVX. Will never bother to replay it. What a sorry ass adventure across uninteresting locations, bad bosses, forced co-op, and with the most letdown possible end to the Umbrella/Wesker arc they possibly could have done.

I know some people here *cough*cough*himuro*cough* love it and think it's one of the finest RE games ever produced because of it's great co-op and arcade-like replayability. However, when it comes to RE there are definitely different camps and I fall in with the "RE5 sucked" haters.

Will buy day one if there's a PC version and it's single player only. RE5 was more fun in co-op, but only because you had to choose between distinguished mentally-challenged fellow AI and someone to actually play with. Single player RE is best RE.

This looks so weird. It's like instead of trying to balance action and horror they went action or horror.

Leon sections are set in a city against zombies.

Chris sections are set in china against against enemies with guns and stuff with cover shooting.

3rd character plus Ashley (?) seems to be the co-op mode set somewhere else, who might have super powers, or something.

Looks tits. RE5 wasn't a very satisfying single player experience, but dammit if the the co-op wasn't fun. Excited for this.

That trailer really didn't do much for me... Everybody has different opinions on these things though.

I liked RE 5 but I thought it was clunky control wise since it was trying to be purely an action game. If they sort that out that would increase my interest because it looks even more like a pure action game at this point.

The slide + 180 was the best thing about the trailer. More developers should start cribbing Vanquish's slide & shoot mechanic (I'm aware of Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm).

Game looks awesome though. Will probably buy it on 360 when it comes out, but I might hold off for the PC version if it isn't too far behind.

After thinking for a second that "wait, GRIN made Bionic 2009, why would there be a Japanese director" I found the staff credits and yeah, Sasaki was barely involved:

Now I need to actually look up what his positions were on those other games listed. It's possible he's a nobody who just did small roles in various games until now and this is his first big job.

*edit, ok he directed the RE Outbreak games; both of them. He also directed Zack & Wiki. One of the main planners on Powerstone 2 and main designers on Star Gladitors and produced Rival Schools. Only thanked in Jojo, no actual work on it.

So he's kind of an old-school Capcom guy who did some 3d fighting game design work and moved his way up in the rank, took hold of the RE Outbreak series, then did oddball Zack & Wiki and then went back to RE with #6. Not bad background and he's familiar with RE and creating RE atmosphere. Could turn out well.

I dunno. I honestly think a western developer could do a better mainline RE game than Capcom since when it comes to making shooters, western devs have more experience and talent.

If RE was still this quirky Japanese survival horror thing, I'd be against outsourcing it. But as a bro game, give it to Crytek and they'll make a better one I bet.
