Just trying to place what kind of structures/crowds I can expect.

Would be awesome as blue vs grey if they added bits with locomotives

Yes. I was saying above that this is USA vs America not North vs South.

Was expressing that I would have liked it to be set during the civil war/locomotive age =P

Weren't there some rumors about like tree climbing a few months back?

Is it a bad thing this is the first Ass Creed I'm sorta interested in since II? If only to see how this goes down?

You can easily skip Revelations. Many people honestly don't like that one.

I passed on brotherhood and revelations, so what i'm saying is mostly bullshit, but I don't want 'additional' gameplay in ass creed 3.  No tower defense or building an assassin league or diversions like that.  I'd want it to be straight up action-adventure like ass creed 2.

Brotherhood was the best of the bunch to me. Not necessarily from a story perspective but the gameplay stuff it added was good and it streamlined the boring and tedious shit from 2.

I just want a fleshed out world to explore with multiple cities and a story that moves around.  These 1 city spinoffs where they pack 300 activities into a single area don't feel like the real thing.

I do and the combat sucked which Brotherhood streamlined with the kill chains but then I always thought AC 2 was a somewhat over-rated game. I think people reacted to it in such a manner because it was simply the game the first one should have been not that I didn't enjoy 2 complaints aside.

Yeah, it's official as in Game Informer worked with Ubisoft and this artist to make it, but it's not reaaaaally how the guy looks because it was drawn by an artist whose not part of the team and looks pretty different than Ubisoft's cg render.

They've actually done it for like a decade. I remember a Tomb Raider cover from the 90's. There were some bad around the 2000s as well.

Might have changed with the wrap-around covers though. No idea there.

It's Alex Ross, he's a big enough name that it shouldn't really matter. And whoever referred to it as fanart is high.

Okay, so I realize that news sites are already leaking info related to the leaked GameInformer article on Assassin's Creed III, so I suppose I will do the same here, even though it may not be quite right... Though it's either us or them.
Here is a basic rundown of the new features in the upcoming GameInformer article, to be released next week:

- The new Assassin is the son of a Native American woman and a British soldier. His calls himself Connor, but his birth name is Ratohnhaké:ton. Born into the Mohawk, he eventually crosses paths with the Assassins in his search for righteousness.

- Connor is quiet and stoic, letting actions speak for words rather than conversing with others. In contrast to Ezio, Connor is a freedom fighter who acts in the name of justice rather than on personal revenge.

- Settings will include Boston, New York and a large countryside. The countryside will be the setting of about 1/3 of the game, and will be the location of many events during the game. The countryside will be about 1.5 times as big as Rome in Brotherhood.

- The protagonist will fight on the American side, with primary allies George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Charles Lee. However, this does not mean that the Americans are the good guys and the British are the bad guys. Templars are everywhere…

- There will be seasons in the game, meaning that the sun will shine during summer and the landscape will be covered in snow during winter.

- Fighting and stealth will be completely re-innovated, with Connor being compared to a “predator”. The player will be able to climb trees and other natural elements, and dual-wielding weapons such as a dagger and a mohawk is now also an option.

- Animals will be present in the woods, like deer and bears. The player will be able to kill them and pelt their skins, to sell them later with the reformed economic system of the game.

- There will be puzzles similar to The Truth, only they will not be given by Subject 16.

- Desmond will go into the new Animus 3.0 and will find himself going into “significant events”.

- 100% sync in memories returns, though this time you will be rewarded when you complete memories to 100%. Checkpoints will also be introduced to mission replay, meaning you don’t have to replay an entire mission to get that 100% sync.

- The Brotherhood, or Assassins Guild, will return in some form, albeit differently than we have seen before.

There will be no more Mercenaries, Thieves, Courtesans, Romani or other factions, but there will be a replacement for them.

- Den Defense will not return.

nah, most likely 360 shots with console ordered to render at some insane res and then downsampled
If anything these shots show how badly we need next gen, this looks like typical Ass Creed engine to me

If people are really really impressed by this, then next gen consoles(including Weeeooo) will blow their socks off.

did you even play the other ones on pc?  this looks EXACTLY the same in terms of graphical quality

sounds fun tho; i hope the a.i. is much better as it would go a long way towards making better sneaking/chase scenes.  being able to kill 50 guards at once or hiding in a random hay bale killed any tension in the old games

It's a video game where the main character you control is playing a video game.

You play a dude named Desmond in the 21st century.  There are magic chairs that allow him to revisit his ancestors' memories through genes and stuff.  One of his ancestors is the middle eastern dude from the first game, another is the Italian dude from the 2nd, and another is this native american in the 3rd game.  There's a lot of other spoilery stuff when you get down to it, but you're not time traveling.
