Good, this means even more bitter tears for Shenmue fans when the third entry is yet again ignored by everyone.

It really was, they could have at least revived something awesome from the Dreamcast days, like Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage.

Out of all the awesome sega properties they chose fucking seaman.  I guess its because the dc one was relatively successful compared to Jet Set Radio or Panzer Dragoon... but still, shit.  I woulda creamed my lacies if it was even Crazy Taxi!

They already did that with the PS2 game.

Out of every third-party IP Nintendo could possibly revive, they choose... Seaman. Why does this not surprise me.

Shenmue is too antiquated, even by Nintendo's standards.  If some business with money even remotely gave a fuck about Shenmue, it might make for a halfway decent Facebook game.

Shenmue's combat system has more depth than any Nintendo combat system though.

Crazy Taxi by Monster Games... cream-worthy.

Shenmue is Virtua Fighter lite. It has a surprisingly deep system for the type of genre it is. That's not a troll of Nintendo products, but a testament of the care put into Shenmue's fighting system.

this isn't actually that crazy, Vivarium (Yoot Saito's company) also made the late in life Nintendo published Gamecube game Odama, which you might recall as the game that cornered the market on the lucrative voice commanded real time strategy pinball market.

and a portable should have a virtual pet killer app. so why not this?

Would a new Burning Rangers be good in this day and age? I'd love to have another worthy title.

As I recall they are only sonic team by name and not staff  :(

I'm hard pressed to think of any dev that would do BR justice as well :/

Modern Sonic Team seems relatively good to me. Sonic Generations is the best 3D Sonic, Puyo is always great, and it looks like they finally made a worth successor to PSO with PSO2. Can't ask for much more than that.

Speaking of Puyo Puyo I could really use a new console/pc entry. I think the last one I played was PP 7.

Well I'm not saying Sonic Team is the best developer ever, but it's not like they could be doing too much better right now. Their Genesis/Saturn glory days are long gone.

And as far as Puyo goes, at least the developers are smart enough to not mess with a winning formula. Look at all of the shitty Tetris games that are still being produced, when Arika set the standard ages ago with their Grand Master series.

I still fire up Wai Wai World II and SNES Goemon all the time. As long as I have those masterpieces Konami's crap cannot harm me.

The PS2 Seaman game didn't get released outside of Japan, so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Not so much for me. I cant stand the look of pop-out 3D on isometric stuff, and from the little I played of it the isometric bits made me angry at the janky feeling hitting.

I was playing it on a demo unit instore years ago so the hardware may have been jank in of itself and to be fair I didnt play it long, but the reason for that was I could feel the anger building inside me and didnt want to have Goemon hate in my soul.
