I think the whole thing is really interesting, it's rather like that guys theory about the free-market negro. Back in the day, the (I'd just like to say that I'm racist, but it applies to being racist about shit tv, music and really fucking bad food, like chips that taste of staleness) black man was affeared of god, and had a real sense of family, and a profound grounding in community; nowadays god and the other things have been replaced with a serious case of 'want it now, and fuck everything else'.
This can be applied to the console situation, it used to be a fairly simple case of planting your flag on the one you like best, because of exclusives etc. But due to the promiscuity of dev cos this is not the case, and the IOS equation has made the dynamics of the olden times fan boy wars far more complicated. Reading that back, it has no real bearing on the previous stanza. So I just hope that MS seriously misstep with their next gen console, because they seem to have become a cunt sponge and bean countersville for people who don't give a shit about enjoyable games. I guess Bioware too, but I have always LOATHED the Mass Effect series for its mediocrity and the mediocre sort of person that it attracts. That said, if a bomb went off in the Mass Effect disco, the world would have lost a bomb.
