Are we expecting anything crazy besides retina display and a better camera?

I don't know what it is about Apple products but my iphones and ipads always seem to easily lose their internet connections. I hope that's something that's improved in the Ipad 3.

I wish it was. No other devices have this issue except the ones I mentioned. They just drop bars and sometimes lose connection and then I have to reconnect. My laptop never does this.

I had this a lot but it seems to have gone away recently without me doing anything consciously - maybe it was the latest OS upgrade that fixed it.

how the hell does it save time? you're simply substituting one good for the other. either way, has there ever been any particular item or service that has existed that could possibly keep you or anyone else away from what they rather be doing with your own time? you're going to end up spending the same amount of time surfing the internet regardless of whether you're using your ipad or your mac, probably more so given how far less inefficient the ipad is in comparison.

the only solution would be to take a baseball bat to your computer and use your universities computer lab whenever need be, though then you'd be one of those guys who spends day and night at the lab which will eventually lead to you installing world at warcraft at your one very special computer you'll learn to call your own and it'll be all you have.

There's a concept video floating around that shows some mock up iPad that has the screen extended all the way to the edges. From a manufacturing standpoint I'm not sure how viable this would be but i'd be pretty cool. Make it so you can choose between extending the a projected image to the edges if you want and the OS UI will use the plentiful resolution to place a software level bezel (by making it completely black) for usability purposes.

There was a rumor last week that gained traction which indicated that the US prices would increase by $70-$80. That doesn’t appear to be the case.

We’ve gotten word that iPad pricing is going to be the same across the board as the current iPad 2 models which should be no big surprise given Apple’s history – they rarely raise prices. Android tablets have been sporting 720p HD displays (1,280 by 720) for some time now, but if the reports are true, the iPad 3′s display will blow Android slates out of the water. (Update: A few 1080p Android tablets were shown at the Mobile World Congress last week from Asus, Acer, and Huawei. Still, the iPad HD would be the first one actually released.)

The iPad HD moniker is also a further sign that the new tablet won’t sport a quad-core A6 CPU, as some rumors have speculated. Instead, it’ll likely ship with an improved version of Apple’s dual-core A5 processor, dubbed the A5X.

Our information on Apple buying up 7.1-inch screen components comes from another source, and it differs slightly from recent Digitimes reports indicating that Apple is working on a 7.85-inch iPad for later in the year. Honestly, an iPad close to 8 inches doesn’t make much sense to me, especially since that’s only two inches smaller than the current 9.7-inch iPad display.

Something closer to 7 inches makes more sense for Apple, since it would be able to compete directly against Amazon’s $199 Kindle Fire, which will likely see a significant price reduction this Fall. Our source says Apple is particularly keen on taking back ground from the Kindle Fire, which is estimated to have sold 6 million units over the holidays. Apple is positioning the smaller iPad for launch later this year, but those plans could easily change, our source notes.

I might pass on it if it's only a dual core.

No one is trying to stop you from getting one. If I was getting a new one I would get this.

The problem for me is that the resolution bump may not be a big enough deal to sell what I already have and get this. I'd much prefer a quad processor. I'll wait to see what they show to see if I think its worth it but I was really wanting a quad processor since the better android tablets have that or will certainly have it this year.

As someone that has owned an iphone since '08, I never thought I'd ever want or need an iPad until I bought one out of the blue last year. Now I can't imagine going a day without it. It's replaced my laptop and netbook as my portable browser.

I get $500 to use for classes every year at work. The district does "iPad training" classes that show you how to use an iPad. You get an iPad as part of the class.

I'm considering this to replace a laptop/netbook. The thing is I'm not sure how well the iPad works for non-faffing applications going by my iPhone. At least I've had the 4S for a while now and I'm pretty sure I can't download MP3s from Safari; it's things like that that make me wary of buying an iPad for anything but leisure. Not that it is a bad thing, but it's just hard to justify spending $500 (minimum) on a device I don't really need.

Still, that screen resolution is amazing and I kinda want it just to look at stuff on it. I'm surprised by the cameras quality; neither is very good and will only look worse on the better screen.

and Infinity Blade Diabo looks cool.

Well, I don't have a laptop or a netbook either...

When I'm at work I have a computer. At home I have a computer. At my couch watching tv/playing a console, I have my iphone to check e-mail/websites. When out I have my phone and it's not like I'm going to lug an ipad with me wherever I go walking down the street. Pretty much the only use I see for an ipad is to internet browse and stuff in bed. Which I already do on my iphone but it would be easier with a bigger screen. And well, to play iOS gaming which I am not a fan of in the first place.

This is going to be a "buy first and then figure out why you like it" product for me.

Looks cool, but wouldn't want to play a game like Diablo with only touch controls. Sure you can tap on enemies to run up and kill them. But if you want range you'll need to hold somewhere to keep yourself in place and need fake buttons for 2ndary attacks and spells and items and ughh, I want a controller adapter for iOS that all games support ASAP. Would make me a much bigger fan of iOS gaming.
