I kinda hate Marvel's alternate timeline stories. That device usually just allows the writer to come up with all kinds of BS. Also, it's kinda pointless since Marvel's rule is that time travel cannot do anything but change another timeline.

My fave mid-90s regular timeline Magneto moment was right before some big X-Men arc where he decided to give humanity one last shot to determine whether to fuck them up or not. So he dressed up in a suit and went to some construction site pretending to be a CEO contractor, to interview a worker who's answers to various questions would determine the fate of mankind. Initially it seemed like the worker was all cool n shit, then he pissed Magneto off by bringing up HITLER so Magneto decided to fuck humans up afterall.

Did you read the story arc that precedes it in Uncanny X-Force, MAF? There's several issues, then one of those .1 issues that is essentially the real "#1" to this new series.

This new AoA feels like it has nothing to do with the original series.
