Traffic police are the lowest form of humanity.

How does it seem like a good idea to them to create a road block for simple license checks during peak fucking hour? Took 45 mins for me to clear a simple 100m road.

Pretty sure anime enthusiasts are worse.  Check that, absolutely positive.  In fact, if I could sterilize just one group of people on earth... well, it would be furries.  But if I could sterilize TWO groups of people on earth, it would be furries and weeaboos.

Sonic furries. :yuck

They crawl out of the toilets of the internet and infest what sane Sonic the Hedgehog discussion is left to be had.

I went through a roadblock aged 17 in a car that wasnt mine, no license and a passed out drunk girl(who was most likely carrying) in the passengers seat. Good enough?

If you're going to hate on police, you better at least have caught a beating from us or something.

None of this "they took a half hour of my time from me because of the traffic" or "waaah, the officer was rude to me when he gave me a speeding ticket" shit.

One time a cop lectured me about driving recklessly and then talked cars with me for 20 minutes.  What a dick.  He should have given me the reckless endangerment ticket and let me go.  I had shit to do.

Am I doing this right?

Got in a car accident today. Two different cops showed up, and neither were going to take a statement from my husband and I. They took the old guys' statement who hit us (and who acted like both drivers didn't see each other). Had to go all pregnant lady and say, "Oh no. We saw you. You were stopped, we went, and over halfway through our turn, you floored it directly into our car."

Wtf. Cops were nice enough though. Just thought that was a little weird that they didn't even ask us what happened. Seems pretty important for a police report.

If you drive like a grandma you don't ever get pulled over, which is why I pretty much keep it to 5 miles above the speed limit at most.  And I drive a mid 90's Sentra, so, you know, I've got that going for me too.

cops have eaten up thousands of my hard-earned dollars with stupid bullshit tickets.  how many times have i gotten pulled over for going 4 over on a road or 7 over on the highway?  too many fucking times.  plus stupid violations with my parking, having a light out, turning too fucking fast, whatever, and most of the time it's an excuse to look for drugs.

last time i got pulled over they told me i didnt come to a complete stop at a sign.  then they went to a million questions basically asking me why i was a white dude in a black neighborhood.  they saw me hand something off at someone's house and thought it was drugs when i was really just dropping off a coworkers coat ::)  "well this is a high drug-traffic area and we just like to keep tabs on everyone in the neighborhood."  i rolled the window up in her fucking face and drove off.

not to get all #whitewine because the cops could have been way bigger dicks in all of my situations, but god damn most of them really do try to go out of their way to be asshole for no fucking reason.

What's up with that bullshit?  My cousin works for homeland security and never gets more than a "drive safely, buddy" whenever he gets pulled over for going over 100.

Where can I get one of those stickers?  I might be able to get away with it since I'm pretty built.  If they see my medical gear, I'll just say that I used to be a medic.

There still exists some semblance of a brotherhood of service personnel.

Some people take a few too many liberties with it, of course. (ie. driving over 100)

I don't do traffic stuff, but I've heard enough stories like this that it seems common in collisions where it is relatively clear-cut what happened and who is at fault that police don't bother to take statements from the "victim" of the collision, and just from the person at fault.

Must be some precedent/case law where the victim's statement wasn't required to get a conviction for the collision, and if that's the case, why do the extra legwork?

Also, even among cops, the traffic nazis who would ticket their own mother are hated too.

Yea but to the cops, it wasn't clear cut. They said it was 50/50 based on what the other guy said, when it was absolutely his fault.

:lol It wouldn't have helped. It happened on a jurisdiction line, so we had to wait for one cop, then she said we had to call the other jurisdiction and have them come out too, so we had to wait longer. By the time I got to the hospital, almost an hour and a half had passed.
