EA wanted to put it on Steam, but Gabe told them to take that crap and ram it, and Dragon Age 2 while they're at it until Bioware is able to live up to the standards of RPGs created in third-world countries like Poland.

That's crazy bandwidth.  How much do you pay per month?  I pay $55/month and maximum DL speed is 1.5 mb/s.

I think he's from Japan where 70-100 mbps is common.

Furthermore, I live in Iowa, I pay $50 a month and my maximum DL speed I've seen so far is 4.6 MB/sec.

I think you're getting hosed.

I live in a hilly area where supposedly fiber optics will never be installed.   :'(

Right now I'm with Time Warner cable, which is the only broadband option other than DSL.  I don't even know if DSL qualifies as broadband.  I tried it once and it felt like surfing on a phone modem again.

100mb/s fibre optic - costs me under $15/mo (the whole apartment block is contracted so we get a big discount). I pasted a speed test result here once and it made everyone else ill :tophat

The Origin dl was only 10mb/s on avg...not that crazy.

That's nuts.  I'd have to buy a 2tb hard drive every month with that kinda bandwidth.  No wonder you don't need too much SSD space since every game would only take 15 mins to redownload.

Yeah, it is true about the DL times...I never bother backing-up games I delete from Steam anymore (I used to delete them from the SSD, then back-up on a regular HDD). I can re-DL and install them to SSD in pretty much the same time as it would take to un-archive and install from a slower disk.
