It's seriously one of the worst games of all time.

That might sound like hyperbole but man, this game is a huge turd. I'm not opposed to the idea but it's just so poorly executed and I can't figure out why when 90% of the game thus far is generic ass third-person shooter.

I started thinking that maybe it's just really bad solo so I tried looking for a game and I can't find anyone playing it. So, I was wondering if anyone here picked it up and maybe wanted to try and play it?

I was honestly kinda interested in it early as I like shooters and I like Resident Evil but nothing in the preview videos looked remotely interesting.

The fact that slant 6 was involved didn't help either.

It's not horrible for what it is. A Slant Six SOCOM set in Raccoon City. You get to shoot zombies with guns, and that's why people are playing it.

The hardcore RE fans on places like GAF who think whitey shouldn't be allowed near any Japanese franchise are the most vocal with the hate because they were somehow expecting another RE game with a melodramatic animu story. It's the same reason they hate the RE movies, yet they make a mint in the US.

I've read that it's full of shitty glitches and just generally doesn't play as well as it should, but I also see a number of people saying "yeah it's supposed to be bad but I'm enjoying it."

Who gives a shit about the story? It's the glitches and game play problems that are bringing this game down.

At least if this was still PSP exclusive it could have been something of a novelty, and probably induced some great entertainment as PSP fans tried to prop it up as more than it is.

As it stands though, who the hell wants another TPS on PS3 or 360 at this point? Even with the RE name (haphazardly) slapped on.

Well, Slant Six was basically a big PSP developer, and now we have an RE game that's mysteriously like their PSP Socoms. From the Iwata Asks I get the impression Revelations was always a 3DS game.

uh, slant six wasn't a big psp developer at all. they were the dev who handled socom when zipper said "let's make MAG" but before zipper said "wait no one care about MAG back to socom." originally zipper made the PSP socom games, and then slant six took over and also worked on the first PS3 multiplayer only one.

slant six is in the same area as rebellion. like a c-tier developer publishers go to and say "we need a new alien vs predator game, quickly, and we don't want to spend a lot of money"

Nah, they're D-list at best. And it really shows in their gameplay. I got Socom PS3 for free and even for free I felt ripped off.

I'm probably going to get this when it hits $10 for the trainwreck factor and being a Resident Evil fan, but by then the online will probably be dead and so it'll be kinda like Outbreak offline above normal, nearly impossible to complete because the AI wants to fuck you over with their stupid decisions. So, that's one thing Slant Six nailed from Capcom, the craptastical AI for singleplayer in a multiplayer Resident Evil offshoot.

Also this isn't a new thing, stuff gets hidden on discs now and then. Only difference is this is part of a work in progress they must've forgotten to delete when contracted by Capcom to make it RE themed.

I saw the collector's edition (?) of this game at Target today. But the price was only bumped down to the conventional mark of 60 bones.
