Skulls is totally modeled on Advance Wars and Tactics, but without menu surfing and traffic jams.

This sounds amazing :heart

Skulls is totally modeled on Advance Wars and Tactics, but without menu surfing and traffic jams. I quit working for Square Japan and moved to Haunted Temple in January so I'm still getting up to speed on all the subtle nuances of the game but it's a blast in multiplayer and the campaign mode is really damn funny.

Demi, the PAX trailer I cut was really fast paced and was just to get people's attention on the show floor. A bunch of people recorded short narrated walkthroughs that go into the nitty gritty of how the game works, once those get uploaded I'll pass them along and you can see if it's your cup of tea or not

So that was you saying the ESRB blurb, I knew it. :P

Windows 8, Windows Phone 7, and Xbox Live Arcade. Microsoft is publishing (if it wasn't obvious.) I think Sho said it'll launch with Windows 8? Or something like that.

However, while some conventions will let you get away with wearing practically nothing, others such as PAX East do have rules about that sort of thing.

So when professional cosplayer Jessica Nigri showed up dressed as Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw  — in a pink spandex suit with a more than plunging “neck-line” — she was asked to either leave the show or change into something more appropriate.

After changing into another Lollipop Chainsaw costume she had apparently worn the day before, without any issue,  she was asked to leave yet again

Sounds awesome. I'm a bit behind on Windows 8's news, but it's coming to anything that supports it, desktops or otherwise, correct?

Yeah. I do think that's important. Many of us forget gaming isn't only about 18-30 year old males.

On that note, there were also tons of girls there. I'd say it may have been about 35-40%.

Yup.  It's such a shitty con it's become the biggest gaming convention in the world in a matter of a handful of years.

Do you mean PAX East?

Is PAX overall really that big? I always thought it was:

1. E3
2. TGS
3. GDC
4. GamesCom
5. PAX Prime
6. PAX East

Also, half of PAX isn't even about video games but tabletop/card gaming.

Wow, never realized. Must be because it's press-"only." Kind of a weird image that it's made for itself though, that it's the premier place for new game announcements and showings.

I haven't read up windows 8.  Don't know if there's something new about, like some new xna thing, or if it's like the fallout situation.

I'm gonna have to check out Sho Nuff's game when it gets released... for some reason I love it when SRPGs eschew grid based movements for more circular type ranges (Phantom Brave, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, Dragon Quarter)... didn't know you worked for SE Japan though, that's interesting. What did you do there if you don't mind me asking?

I'm not 100% certain what the compatibility will be for the Win8 App Store version. I gotta look into that.

At Square I started in the International Dep't and was their in-house editor for a few years. Switched over to a bizdev/producer role after that. Made the jump to work on Skulls as my midlife crisis after ten years working for Square -- now I do a ton of motion graphics / frontend / sound / video work. Good times, INDIE 4 LYFE (or as long as it pays, anyway)
