Oh, is that the joke?  ...No, I still don't get it.

spelled out (and spoiled):

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Near the end of the movie Iron Man says he wants to try shawarma.  The second post credit scene is everyone sitting down eating shawarma.

That's the gag.  It messes with the audience's expectation of what the post-post-credit scene should be.  Instead of another tease for Avengers 2, it's just these guys in costume eating in an awkward silence.

I saw The Avengers with my dad. THAT is how you do a comic book movie. My dad and I have been geeking out for the past HOUR talking about how awesome that movie was. Best comic movie I've ever seen and one of the most memorable film experiences I ever had. It was like the whole audience had the time of their lives. Dude after the movie said Batman was gonna top it, but we just laughed in his face. lmao

The Dark Knight Rises is going to be great, no question, but it won't be as much FUN.

This is going to be a good summer for blockbusters, I think.

Really fricking awesome movie. Top notch Joss dialog and funniness too, but the action was not only competent it was amazing from top-to-bottom.

The only reason I'm still slightly-less than hot for it (not lukewarm by far, but not red hot) is that I really don't care about any of the characters except Iron Man and Hulk, and this movie had the worst actor playing Bruce Banner I've ever seen. Really didn't like that guy.

Otherwise, delivered on all counts. Hoping Joss does the sequel, which was confirmed I believe.

I thought Bruce Banner was perfect. He almost looked hobo-ish, which is how I always envision Bruce Banner.

I think Thor was great.

Cap was the weak link on the team but even he stole the show some times.

The other spider-man movies were huge, but yeah, there doesn't seem to be a lot of excitement for Amazing Spider-man.  Doesn't help that the trailers haven't been great.  The tone is all over the place.

Does anyone even want to see more Spiderman movies?  He got a bunch already.  Interest seems gone.

And the villain in this one is just some CG lizard creature or something (kind of remember him from the comics), just seems like a boring premise.  There's so many good Spiderman villains they could have used instead.

I saw it in some AMC ETX shit that was comparable to faux IMAX. It was pretty sweet. I wouldn't have paid the extra surcharge for it, but I just movie hopped after seeing The Cabin in the Woods (which was awesome as well).

As for Spiderman villains, I want:

-Jackal
-Smythe (as a henchman to Kingpin leading into a Richard Fisk/The Rose arc)
-Chameleon (as a henchman)
-Kraven (With a rampaging Calypso so they are forced to work together near the end)
-Morbius  (tag team with Jackal)
-Sin-Eater (Why not elevate an unknown villain, it would also tie him into the Avengers universe easily)

It's converted/fake 3D.  If that doesn't mean anything to you, then maybe? it's just shot and meant to be a 2D film.  Converted 3D is usually just taking advantage of 3D as a gimmick, getting people to pay extra for tickets n stuff.  But if you like the effect, might as well watch it in 3D.  Some people said the 3D is pretty alright in it.  Plus if you want to see it IMAX, it has to be 3D.  Might be worth putting up with the effect for the quality.

I don't have a problem with 3D if it's the intention.  I'm gonna see Prometheus and Amazing Spider-man in 3D.  And The Dark Knight Rises in real imax, hopefully.  Those tickets will be sold out fast.

Well, one thing I can give it is that the fidelity was not lost while watching the film. Usually in 3d films, it feels like I am losing quality because of the 3d effect. The Spider-man 3d trailer exemplifies this. All the action looks blurry and what the fuck. But in Avengers it all went smoothly and I was never taken out of my film experience.

First time I saw it I got Brave, Frankenweenie, Spidey, TDKR, and some shitty COPS looking movie shot with a handicam.

The other two times I saw it I got everything but that shitty cop movie.

Spider-Man looks pretty good in 3D, but it and Batman just look stale and boring after Avengers.
