I think Wes Anderson is a good director.  It would be neat if he found a co-writer that was interested in adding some complexity to the characters around all the scenery.  But I don't just go to movies for the characters, I also enjoy seeing things that are beautiful and larger then life. Like Jinfash's cock.  And since they aren't showing Jinfash's cock at the theater tomorrow, I'll probably be seeing Moonrise Kingdom. 

Also the entire cast is really great.

kids aren't that big of a deal.  I mean, as long as I don't have to deal with them personally then I'm more or less indifferent.  These kids were trained to follow a script so hopefully the things they say won't be too dumb, at least in context.

The quirky but hollow thing is such a lazy rubber-stamp criticism.  Dude's movies have plenty of subtle characterisation and pathos even if he doesn't always get it right.  Save that shit for the real frauds like Burton and Del Toro (and Gilliam - you heard me).

This one flew under the radar the but raving reviews got me interested. I haven't seen any of Anderson's movies, but I remember the bore going gaga over Mr. Fox. I'll check it out, if only for the unlikely cast.

Saw it over the weekend.  Wasn't crazy about it; it has its moments, but the lighter material is more often too precious for it's own good—territory Anderson seemed to be knowingly tiptoeing around in his previous films.  Alexandre Desplat's score is disappointing, too.

Also, if I'm identifying this trend correctly, stop working with Roman Coppola, please.
