The original Transformers is still awesome. But not as awesome as GI Joe.

I remember watching this every Sunday morning. I'd still watch it again, too, I actually like watching old CG.

The only episode I really remember was the one where they found Optimus Prime.

dinobot is the best

I have the ps1 game somewhere in my garage.  I think the first level is going down a trench as rat trap.  Game is butt.

The show's writing is still enjoyable, and I of course get choked up watching Code of Honor... :(

But yeah, you can tell this was one of the earliest CG TV productions. Reboot (the first, by the same studio) looks even worse.

'hasn't aged well'?  It's always looked like dogshit.  But yeah, the writing was surprisingly good for a toy commercial about fursuit-wearing robots.

I really liked this show as a kid but I could never wrap my mind around why there needs to be both a Cheettor and a Rattrap when they both serve the same function as characters.

Ok so I just watched the second episode....did the slang "beast mode" derive from this show?

PD/Himu/Beezy confirm.

Rattrap is the wise cracking experienced member of the Maximals. Cheetor is the wide eyed new comer who's pegged to be the eventual leader of the group. Not sure how those are the same characters.

Reboot's probably aged a bit better because of how stylized it all is compared to Beast Wars.

idk, Reboot's characters are much more human-y and are deep in the uncanny valley - BW's are generally more tolerable.  The animal forms are dreadful tho.
