PS1 games on Vita appear to be running through the PSP's PS1 emulator  :duh

uh, so no dual stick?

no dual stick.  no single stick.  no R2/3&L2/3 mapped to back touchpad.  and allegedly Sony's rolling them out on a timely basis, meaning like PSP games, some PS1 games will be incompatible until a later date.

Sony, folks.

Anyone find it weird that Sony were able to get JK Rowling for Wonderbook, but not Sorcery? I think if her name was attached, and it somehow was a part of the HP universe people would actually buy it.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain Sorcery's a better game than most Harry Potter ones, lol.

I hope so.  What's at E3 is the PSP's PS1 emulator.

PS4 specs leak

The hardware
If something is a goal for me was that it was getting hold of a photograph of the PlayStation 4 itself, but this is sadly failed. The PlayStation 4 is still only on paper but a console for developers and only a select few people know how the device actually really look like. Sony also find it not necessary to the looks of the PS4 to share with developers, because here they simply have nothing. Of course, Sony then also a good point, but this is obviously bad for us.
What I have got is a very comprehensive document on the specifications of the PlayStation 4. Thus, the PlayStation 4 AMD Fusion APU get with the CPU and GPU sit together on the same chip. The code name for this chip is 'Liverpool' According developers would chip in "real talk" over 10x longer than that of the PS3 can. It would be a quad-core AMD x86 CPU running at 3.2GHz which contain the code name 'Steamroller' know. The GPU is an ATI r10xx at 800MHz with 1843 GFLOPS, this is code-named "Tahiti." This chip is also include on AMD Radeon HD 7970, both chips (CPU and GPU) are 28nm processors.

In terms of memory, there is much uncertainty with the PlayStation 4, as was the initial plan for Sony 2GB unified memory in the machine to stop. This is still only a point for discussion and developers ask whether this really can be brought up to 4GB, these choices are viewed by Sony. For comparison, the Wii you would to contain 1.5 GB of memory.
In terms of disc drive the PlayStation 4 will again be equipped with Blu-Ray, the space offers a Blu-Ray disc (50GB) is in fact still remains enough and so we use this technology. The back of the PS4 you will have a HDMI 1.4 port to put in and it will have a maximum output of 1080 and not the aforementioned 2048p.
In total, during the launch two PlayStation 4 are available, both are only equipped with a hard drive larger than 320GB. In terms of bundles, there are no concrete plans at Sony. What the exact difference between the two we do not know, but this is probably just the hard drive size. Also, the PS4 will have a special place for patches, OS etc this is stored on an internal 16 GB of flash storage.

Apparently these are true*,except for 7970 part

One chip only---APU(GPU+CPU)
Quad-core AMD x86 CPU running at 3.2GHz---"SteamRoller"
7850/70 like GPU---800MHz,1152 SPU,1843GFLOPS
2GB RAM
16GB onboard Flash

*early target specs

Yes and No.

That was meant for developers, shown at GDC.I'm sure people would be much more impressed if Epic made UE4 Samaritan like demo.

Square demo was more impressive from a gamer standpoint.

Site that leaked WiiU specs few days ago claims this

http://www.vgleaks.com/world-exclusive-ps4-in-deep-first-specs/

Quote
In exclusive we have the detailed first specs (not final) for PS4, most likely first alpha kits sent to developers:

TLDR SPECS

CPU

4 core (2 core pairs) 3.2 GHz AMD x86 (Steamroller)
aggregate, 10x PS3 PPU performance
512 KByte L2 per core pair
64 bit pointers

GPU

AMD R10x series GPU @ 800 MHz (Tahiti)
aggregate 10x RSX performance, 1.84 TFlops
DX”11.5″
cheap branching
18 compute units, focus on fine grained compute & tessellation

MEMORY:

2 GByte UMA, pushing for 4 GByte
192 GByte/ sec non-coherent access for e.g. GPU
12 GByte/ sec coherent access for CPU
>50% longer memory latency for CPU/ GPU compared to PC!!!
DXT is lowest bpp texture compression format

MEDIA:

50 GByte BD drive
PCAV, between 3.3 and 8x BD, most likely clamped to 6x
automatic background caching to HDD
HDD SKU with at least 380 GByte
downloadable games

EXTRA HARDWARE:

video encoder/ decoder
audio processing unit, ~200 concurrent MP3 streams
HW zlib decompressor

Our source claims that the final specs should be 10x powerful than PS3, due to this info has got 10 months.

The gaf thread on those specs changed to lower specs at some point and now the rumor is that PS4 is going to be a bit underpowered to make $299 launch.  Good for sales, but bad for 8 year console cycle :(

2GB of RAM is super fail. Especially considering the WiiU has nearly the same amount of RAM. But I guess you have to account for the system as a whole and the cost involved but is should be 4GB minimum.

Well they screwed up the ram with the PS3, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again with the PS4.

I really don't have faith in Sony to pull off a more powerful system than the Next Xbox.  I figure the graphics divide will be like this gen with Xbox games having better AA/IQ and framerate.

While those "dev rumors" do say the Durango is a pleasure to develop for, and that's why developers are rooting for the Xbox again next round, there's definitely no way it would match anywhere near the PS4 specs if the PS4 really is planning to be 10x the PS3.

Perhaps Sony realized they'll never beat MS on the software finesse side and just chose to solve their problems with brute power over the competition.
