Glenn Beck says he’s poised to destroy “Glee” with his own conservative, virtuous version of the hit TV show.

The pundit and former Fox News host outlined his next move in the crusade to defend family values during the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference in Washington, D.C. Friday.

Beck said that he’s appalled by ‘Glee,’ which tackles issues like bullying, teen sexuality and LGBT issues, but he’s also in awe of its success.

"It's horrifying some of the things that they're teaching high schoolers," the talk radio host said. "But it's brilliantly done. It's produced, brilliantly. Its music, brilliant. Its acting, brilliant. Its cinematography, brilliant. All of it!"

Beck is cooking up a plan to create a counter-Glee -- a show that's just as well-produced and enjoyable to watch, but that pumps out conservative values to the youth of America, without any "stereotypical conservative Lee Greenwood music," he explained at the conference.

Beck has said that all of the characters on "Glee" are "somebody that your kids want to be like," according to Billboard.

"Except everybody is sleeping with everybody else. There's no values. It's all self-gratification. It's a nightmare."

But the conservative culture-warrior has released few details about plans for the upcoming show, which Beck first alluded to Tuesday in an interview with Buzzfeed.

"We are working with a rapper -- I can't say who yet -- but my audience and his audience will say, 'What?'" Beck told the website. "We jokingly call this our Oedipus project because the left will be making out with me ... and they'll have no idea."

I'd like to see this.  I hope they create a conservative version of Glee where a bunch of closeted conservative homos dance gaily while covering Ted Nugent and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I bet the rapper is Lacrae

It's pretty much an Atheist-Leninist-Marxist-Homosexualist Transgendered Orgy of Sin:

The episode was full of “Glee’s” usual instances where the gay lifestyle was pushed on viewers, featuring lesbian kissing in the hallways and a student coming out that he was gay. Lesbian cheerleader Santana complained: “All I want to be able to do is kiss my girlfriend, but I guess no one can see that, because there’s such an insane double standard at this school.”

In a singularly ironic way, she’s right. There is an insane double standard at that school – in favor of the homosexual lifestyle.

By mocking the Bible, “Glee” has gone further down the rabbit hole in pushing homosexual propaganda on its viewers.

Quote
'Glee' is dangerous because it is a mixed bag of "catchy vocal production numbers' and 'sexualized themes and secular humanist propaganda indoctrinating viewers."

Quote
Bill O’Reilly dared to strike a blow for traditionalism – and simple rational thought -- on Fox News, not buying this “The Emperor Has Girl Clothes” attitude that’s demanded of everyone. He said “Glee” could cause imitators: “They might go out and experiment with this stuff.” For this obvious point, he was roundly booed.

I've watched some of Glee with female friends, they love that shit. Eh. If I was a gay dude I'd be so tired of every gay male on TV being a flaming queen stereotype (except Max on Happy Endings).

The show deals with transitional young adult shit kids go through in high school - so naturally conservatives be mad. They lost the culture war among young people a long ass time ago, might as well let it go instead of embarrassing everyone with some half assed conservative show. There's nothing more embarrassing than Christian attempts to reach urban or young audiences; that shit pissed me off even when I was religious.

My old roommate was a huuuge Christian rap fan and would always try to convert me. A lot of those dudes can rap but it just feels so superficial as they replicate the general sound of mainstream hip hop. I doubt Jesus would be down with swag rap, breh.

I hear he's (surprisingly) taking in more money now than when he was at Fox News.

It's not that surprising really, he signed that Fox deal when he was still pretty small time. Now he owns everything under his Mercury Radio Arts company. WSJ says 2012 estimates are $80 million in revenues. Over 300,000 subscribers at either $10 a month or $100 a year.

This is from a year ago:
Quote
Because Mr. Beck owns the show and the network, he could make substantially more than the $2.5 million salary he got each year at Fox. GBTV is on track to take in more than $20 million in revenue in its debut year, according to a person close to the company.

The television industry will be watching closely to see whether the TV host can preserve his popularity while migrating to the Web, where efforts to get consumers to pay to watch online-only channels are just beginning.

When Mr. Beck announced GBTV in June, the network had 80,000 subscribers. In the months since, GBTV subscribers have swelled to more than 230,000, according to people close to the network, even though Mr. Beck‘s show hasn’t yet begun.

A few years ago there was a story about how Limbaugh does significantly better ratings with Democratic presidents. Although that's probably a little skewed with the talk radio explosion in the 90s and lack of widespread internet at the time.

I'd bet his ratings were significantly better over the last four years than over Bush's final four years

That'd probably depend more on what companies are left he hasn't burned bridges, buildings and entire neighborhoods with.
