That said, if you’re just in the mood to relive Okami in HD with the same controls as you had on your PS2, you can also play with your traditional PS3 controllers.

This is just the first game. Okami is split into 3 different games.

No, it's a complete game, it's just that you fight the same boss like 5 times and the story never ends. It is a 40 hour 15 hour game.

That's probably the best way to appreciate Okami. Play it for a few hours, think "oh, this is okay" and then not play it anymore.

I might finally be able to finish it. I remember really loving it, but the easy difficulty turned off. That and how it kinda dragged.

okami is an okay game, the cellshaded graphics are awesome and some of the music is quite good too, personaly if there is a problem with it,it's the same problem that plague zelda in general too (helper character that won't shut up,puzzle so obvious a monkey could do them...)

what himuro meant is that (this is not really a big spoiler but you might never know)
spoiler (click to show/hide)
there are actualy 3 big storylines in the game, imagine that after link defeats ganon instead of the game ending, the game goes "and then everything went peacefull for a while" and then pull off another villains from his ass, that's what okami does,i personaly like the idea because as far as i know,it makes okami the only game with multiple story arcs, sure some game have character growing up in the future and yadda yadda but they are still fighting the same big bad for the same reason
[close]

and yes,one of the boss pops up twice (there is actual a plot related reason for this) and then you fight him again in a boss rush at the end and it's still the same boss without any change do it to them but seriously it's not so bad,it's the only boss that get repeated outside of the boss rush and personaly you know what? between the original mario galaxy and mario galaxy 2 with their medals, time trials and boss rushes,i have fought that stupid plant boss at the beginning of the game at least 6 times, but you don't see people having a problem with that

Remember when PS3tards said Sony would never ever sell PS2 games on PS3 after removing the BC?  That was a fun day.

i would totally rebuy this if they let someone edit the game and make 90% of the issun dialog optional.  amazing atmosphere that touched my inner weeaboo like no other.  i dunno  why people would complain about three story arcs because it makes the game huge and SUPER EPIC

Are these direct rip iso > emulate jobs though? When I was into the emulation scene way back when I remember there being a definite insurmountable bottleneck for PS3 to emulate PS2. I'm fairly confident these games have had their code retooled to work on ps3. (please dont call me on this it's been years since I've been on Dcemulation and I cant be arsed to look it up)

This.  The only thing wrong with it is the unnecessary handholding.  Real talk, with some liberal editing to Issun's dialogue, Okami could be the best 3D Zelda, bar none.

Agree. The handholding is what makes the game even worse, BUT, what chances they'll fix that? None.

iirc the Wii version made text faster.  If they got fix it entirely, I'd replay this version.  First time I tried Okami, I stopped playing because of that slowness.  When I came back and stuck with it, I ended up really liked it.

The three story thing is cool, but I can see why people aren't fond of them.  It ramps up to the climax three times, and drops you back to the the base level twice.  It's not so different from what Red Dead Redemption does.
