It's already 105F today, and it was 108F yesterday. I didn't really care because we weren't planning on going anywhere with the baby, but ended up having to get out in the heat anyway.
The night before yesterday (108F day), my dad ended up being taken to the ER via ambulance because my mom thought he was having heart attack. Luckily his heart is ok, and it was an infection around his heart that was affecting his breathing and causing severe sharp pains. If he didn't have those pains that night, he would've gone to work the next morning like he planned and probably would've died between the infection, breathing issues, and the heat. He's in construction and was working a job by himself with no A/C. They sent him home today with antibiotics and inhalers.
We drove out to the hospital with the baby that day but left early enough in the morning that it was only 100F during the hour-long car ride, and we stayed until sunset when it cooled back off to 100F. Good god, the stress of having an infant in extreme weather and having a parent who refuses to take care of himself.
