It's very good, and the world is probably more interesting if smaller than Risen 1. However the combat was flat out broken at launch, and they've fixed it slightly now.

The reason why Sanctum won and Torchlight wins is because the most popular games win. When you take millions of steam users into account, you have to factor out people actually thinking like "hey, this game hasn't had a good sale", it's just pure gamefaqs at that number count where people click the most popular games that they know and have heard of.

It is. Driving model isn't perfect but shifting (possessing) vehicles is amazingly fun and the writing is funny. If it wins I should remember to post the graphical fix. By default the PC version looks dark and flat without the bloom of the console version.

And it's interesting how people get into a frenzy during the Steam sales. Driver SF was 75% off a few weeks back, but I suppose people hold off believing it'll be cheaper during the sale event. Well, Steam sales used to have 75%+ discounts but it's rarer to see 80% or 90% deals these days.

Some programs let you easily manage games among multiple hard drives. I just backed up games I don't normally play onto an external 2 TB.

How do the steam versions of thief 1 & 2 run on steam? I usually prefer to get older games on gog because they usually have better optimization/support.

I already own T1+2 on GOG, so I guess I'm just in for Deadly Shadows.

Playing T1+2 earlier this year was remarkably rewarding. In the end I think T1 is jankier and less directed but also better in a way.

Supposedly they're the same as the GoG versions and fine, though it's through Steam. Neither is the most up to date. GoG made a good list of mods a while back.
