The press seemed to way over hype the psychedelic aspect of this game rather then talk about the actual tight and challenging gameplay.

I bought it last night and started playing it. I kinda like it so far, but I'm not crazy about it. From my short play time I thought it wasn't as fluid as I was hoping it to be. I mean there's a decent core gameplay underneath and level of challenge, but I was more interested in the much hyped trance state this psychedelic audio/visual "treat" was promising. I'll play some more later, hopefully high.

Edit: oh yeah, it was the trophy challenges that kept pulling me out of it, they need a disruptive level of focus.

I was hoping for more of the "oh ma gawd drugs" stuff. The visuals really didn't seem that extreme to me.

once the gameplay becoms natural and you slowly begin to perfect your craft, you'll be put into a trance state, although very briefly since you'll be jetting through the levels. it also helps that the levels progressively get harder and longer
