bought a g27; some impressions

so I bought a G27 from Logitech and a playseat setup, with the extra addon for the speed shifter, and i'm really impressed by the quality of it. The thing is, its hilarious how hard the game is. I'm using it with Gran Turismo 5 so far, and I turned off all the artificial assist, and the game is kicking my ass super hard. It's really impressive how the immersion is. I'm mostly doing time trial races, and its funny how I find myself driving exactly like I do in real life. I just cruise around the tracks at somewhat normal speed, not giving a fuck, but really enjoying the whole 'experience'. I tried it with Daytona USA, but it seems that the game is not fully compatible with it, the steering wheel does not fully 'turn', its a bit hard to explain...I can turn to the left and the car wont really react all that much, at least not in full.. The game has a few settings so I guess i'm going to have to dig some info online for an optimal config

I think i'm more into arcade style games, so my next purchase is going to be Midnight Club Los Angeles, I really enjoyed trying that game a couple of years ago

Thats basically how my setup looks like, except that I dont have a smiling asian guy sitting in my setup at all times:

I'm eventually going to hook up a computer to my setup; it seems that there are far more options ont the pc. I also have this distinguished mentally-challenged vision of THE ULTIMATE BF3 setup that would involve using this and adapting a flight plane joystick setup; this way i could switch controllers on the fly. It probably wont work anyway.

I have this playseat with the MS wheel. Mainly use it for Forza, I've found the arcade games aren't as fun with it. But for Forza it's fantastic.

Bought it for $99 (down from $500) when some store was clearing it out.

If you want something easier and more arcadey I suggest you try the Codemasters games. Both Grid and Dirt are awesome with a good wheel.

Edit: Here's my much simpler setup with a stand instead of a proper seat.
