Yeah, it's really great. I bought the game from Play N Trade a few years back and was addicted... this game was really asking for a DS sequel, especially with the whole above/below ground setup the game had.

I cannot fathom why Nintendo would expend monies to remake that game into a 3D Classic. Maybe that's the one instance where the game's godawful simplicity worked in its favor - must have been easy to recreate.

Just beat Code of Princess. A few of the bonus quests got too hard for me and I didn't really feel like grinding. Fun, although sluggish, game. Satisfied an pick-up-and-kick-the-shit-out-of-stuff urge of mine, story is animu sillyness

Now to focus more on Kid Icarus and perhaps pick up that 999 sequel.

Playing Mutant Mudds, this game is definitely NES-hard. Oscar would be right at home. Not complaining, it's kind of a breath of fresh air. Tiny platforms you have to jump on with enemies on them taking up 50% of the space, managing projectiles flying at you while trying to land jumps and shoot, enemies being a few pixels out of your range until you get close enough for them to hit you, etc.

- Crashmo and NightSky for original eShop stuff. Three of the Guild01 games have been/are being localized as well.
- Paper Mario, Prof Layton, Epic Mickey 2D for retail stuffs. You get DK original edition (arcade) for free if you buy one of the first two on eShop.

What makes MM not so hard is infinite "lives"/continues and super short levels (they all have a timer of 4 minutes, and I've come close to running it out a couple times.) No checkpoints though, which can be a little annoying on the longer/more intricate/harder levels.

Finshed Kid Icarus... just have these to play:

Tales
Kingdom Hearts
Devil Survivor (also need to buy this one)

Tales is pretty standard port. Doesnt seem to use 3D big deal, so I turned that one off.

Kingdom Hearts is really well done. A huge breath of fresh air after the clumsy DS games. Still trying to understand the whole Dream EAters thing... playing on Proud Mode.

Gonna get my dick wet to Layton and Paper Mario when a B2G1 sale happens hopefully around then.

edit: O ya, need to get Virtue's Last Reward too...

If a game has infinite continues I'm A-OK with it. Otherwise I just give up (still haven't beaten SMB2 USA or the Genesis Sonic games cause of that. Fuck no infinite continues.)

I had a hell of a time beating SMB2 as a kid. The trick is getting as many coins for the first two Worlds' slot machines as possible. With timing, you can routinely get at least two cherries ever time. I think the exploit exists in the NES version where you enter Subspace twice, get as many coins as possible both times, then die and repeat.
