That's right, you said it was coming to the VC, right? I never finished it in Mario Allstars. Man that was a great collection. Not likely we'll ever see such a great compilation again when they could pimp the individual games for $5-$10 apiece  :-\ I think the last great collection was the Zelda one for GC. Fantastic set.

The Kirby Collection is coming out soon, and there was the Prime Trilogy before that.

I forgot about the Trilogy collection - it was really rare, right? I remember seeing at Fry's then it was gone like a week later. I think they go for ~$75-90 on eBay now.

Yeah, pretty rare. I sort of regret not buying them but me and the Metroid series have yet to click.

Maybe when I go back to Super Metroid and beat it, or they put Fusion on the 3DS VC I'll fall in love.

At the rate they release VC games I think we both know you'll have to buy an Ambassador 3DS to ever get Fusion on the 3DS  :-\
Besides, Zero Mission is waaaaay better  :D

Unless it's for your collection, the Metroid Prime Trilogy isn't all that great. The art "book" it comes with is actually just a fold-out pamphlet. The games themselves, specifically Metroid Prime 1, have been altered from their original version and are missing some sequence breaks. Getting them individually is cheaper at this point, so that's probably the route to go.

Prime Trilogy is just "rare" because you can't rip it and play it off a HD properly, so people actually have to buy it.  Or at least it wasn't playable the last time I checked a few years ago.

That's the best you came up with? lol.

It was a limited release. You snooze you lose.

The Mario bundle should hae been limited but crybabies got in the way. I picked upthe Kirby bundle as well.

Is the Kirby Collection coming to 3DS?  The Wii version has been out for over a month, which I own.  I thought it would work much better as a 3DS game than a Wii game.

You can, but you need to launch each game separately from the USB Loader.  It's like the HD collections on PS3 and why you need to exit to the XMB if you want to switch games.  Each game is its own executable.  So instead of launching Metroid Prime 2 through the Trilogy menu, you launch straight from the USB Loader software to Metroid Prime 2 start up.

I bought the Metroid Prime Trilogy at launch and ripping it to my Wii hard drive was all I've done with it so far.  Though, in testing to see if it worked, I found that my regular Metroid Prime 3 save doesn't work with the Trilogy version.  I guess that's similar to the incompatibility between retail and online PS3 saves.

Anyone played Pilotwings Resort? I find it actually relaxing to free-play the hang glider at night. I have yet to meet someone in real life who likes the series. My wife thinks I'm kind of a dip for playing a game with no apparent goal :lol

As long as you're having fun, it doesn't matter. You should try the wingsuit cliff driver simulator VOLO. It's really awesome and completely without goals or objectives.

You can't catch cute monsters in it. At least not in the first 10 hours that I've played.

I'd totally buy it if it's faster than the PS1 version.

I will say I do want to try 8 out whenever they get around to remaking/porting that, seems like it has a lot of fans on GAF and is a solid game.

dq8 has a lot of fans because it was the first 3d dq and had a massive pr campaign. It is not the best dq for a beginner, but if we're talking remakes, i'm sure they'll fix most issues that aren't related to story (many story lines are borrowed heavily from previous dq's).

I think 8 is a very much beginner game. No distinguished mentally-challenged job classes to deal with. Alchemy pot unfortunately, but its not necessary to beat the game. Dumb monster arena which is optional. Actual characters instead of faceless avatars.

you can catch every monster in the game and send them to a giant resort where you can go talk to them and listen to them make millions of shitty puns. seriously you can talk to every monster like four times. its insane how much dialog that game has

Something for Takao.

Quote
Medabots 7 was seemingly off to a slow start from a sales perspective. But in its latest fiscal results, Imagineer (which owns publisher Rocket Company), noted that they were pleased with its performance thus far. Imagineer feels that the game has managed to reach longtime fans as well as newcomers.

We don’t have an exact sales number on Medabots 7. Having said that, it should have sold over 100,000 units since launch.
