I've mostly played in bed instead of reading at night so it's difficult to tell. Maybe 7 or 8 hours. Once you've unlocked one ending you can replay it and fast-forward through the story sections. The options you picked in the first playthrough will be gray instead of white, so it's really easy to go down another path.

I want to at least experience all the puzzles. Once I'm done with that I might look up the last few endings on YouTube. Apparently, there are six endings in total.

holy shit paper mario is insanely mediocre. its prob the worst nintendo game i've ever played and thats a pretty low bar.

i mean theres like no point to any of it. you don't need to fight enemies because you'll get millions of coins and it's not like youre levelling up or anything, it's just enitrely pointless. what a shit game.

the game would be better if there was XP or levels or something but theres fucking nothing. 0. nada. zilch. theres literally no reason to fight enemies in the world and after the 5th battle you will roll your eyes and try to avoid them. so fucking stupid.

not yet atleast and im 3 hours in and beat the first world and boss. I don't even know what the progression is in this game if there is any at all. All it's been so far is Super Paper Mario but instead of killing enemies by jumping on them you not have to enter a very boring RPG system

Sticker Star always looked dumb. I think Thousand Year Door is an anomaly because that is the only good Paper Mario in the series.

My bud seems to be enjoying Paper Mario, and that the RPG elements are still there, its just displayed not as traditionally.

He got it for me <3 so I will give it a try when it arrives.

okay methodis has a point but is waaaaay off at the same time. It's true, there's no leveling up in a regular sense, but after a few hours, "experience" as we all know it is not in star points or XP stats...it's disguised as coins. You receive a metric fuckton of coins, and at first it seems pointless. That's far from the case. Success and failure in battles is entirely dependent on the amount of coins you have. And just because you have a ton of jump and hammer stickers doesn't mean you automatically have an easy battle. You have to use coins to purchase upgrades (sticker upgrades, sticker journal upgrades, health and defense, etc.), as well as use coins in battle to string stickers together to formulate a winning battle strategy.

So basically, you collect coins to become more powerful. The more coins you have, the stronger Mario is. It's odd but strangely satisfying.

You'll tire of battles the same amount as you would tire from past Paper Mario battles. It's no different here once you realize the mechanics of them game.

Story seems a bit zzz though

but still a pretty fun game. The story is actually pretty good if you compare it with the rest of the Tales of installations. Though the fonon stuff can be confusing.

I've warmed up to this game. The first 15 hours were a total slog, but plot stuff is actually happening like every 10-30 minutes now. Very good pacing and the main char isn't a total asswipe anymore.

He's annoying and bland but that's better than "I WANT TO WRAP MY HANDS AROUND YOUR THROAT AND SQUEEZE UNTIL YOUR HEAD POPS" that I felt pre-haircut.

Of course, it doesn't help that whenever Luke does something normal post-haircut EVERY SINGLE FRICKING CHARACTER comments on it. "Luke said thank you? OMFG!" That happened until like, every single damn character said it. Jeeze.

Well Karol was a terrible character in Vesperia so. Overall I thought TotA > ToV

Graphically ToV is very pleasing to watch though.

Karol is okay. He's just forgettable, but when you got that awesome cast, I don't see a problem with that. I just never saw the praises people had for TotA. What's good about it? The characters? They all suck except for Tear and Guy (

PORT TALES OF VESPERIA TO 3DS.

The battle system is one of the major criticisms in ToV as it is to clunky. I liked abyss a bit better. I used Guy as my main in battle and he becomes a force later on. RAZING PHOENIX, SWORDRAIN ALPHA!

Tales of Graces shits on both battle systems though.

Vesperia is awesome because of mai waifu Rita. But the best RPG this gen is by far Xenoblade. Game is a masterpiece.
