Not that I'm trying to brush it all away, because I think they're fucking nuts. But does it really matter what these people believe? They're not going to teach that in public schools, and nobody is forcing people to go to these museums.
If they start picketing in my area (or anyone else's) and telling us why God hates us, then I'll have a reason to care.
I'm in the liberal Bay Area but in 7th grade, this one kid who sat next to me in science class started pestering me about believing evolution (he was a Christian). I told him I think it makes sense because there's all the fossils and I guess God did something too with making Adam/Eve but whatever, bear in mind that I was a highly religious Muslim at the time but I still hadn't given much thought into finding an excuse for how Adam & Eve existed. Eventually he keeps telling me I'm wrong and I say okayokayokay to get him off my back.
The next day, this kid from Kentucky who sits in front of me turned around asked me what the fuck was wrong with that guy?

Now I get it, a lot of you are really religious and grow up in the hotbed of creationism-pollution but are still never going to drink that kool-aid. However, I don't like the idea of people trying to prosletize that shit. For science of all things, the way to prove everything before you believe it is so goddamn important. What bothers me isn't that people believe creationism, it's that they reject the scientific method.
Most religious folks at least try to come up with some way for both evolution and the Adam/Eve story to be true. Because they value the motherfuckin' science.
