I am wanting to rip a dvd and make some gifs out of it, first step is obviously converting the DVD to a video file.

Can anyone recommend me some software?

MacTheRipper doesnt work with OSX Snoop Lion, Handbrake seems to be working.

the incredibly shitty, instantly dated early 90's sci-fi flick Freejack.

Anthony Hopkins is the villain in this, and it came out just right before he won an Oscar for The Silence of the Lambs. And this film is, I must emphasize strongly, really quite shitty.
