If the Pentagon was truly upset about him releasing classified info, wouldn't they do something about it? I wonder if they're ok with this but just pretending to be concerned

They only got all pissed off after early reviews of the book came out and they talked about how the book completely contradicts the officially released version of how Bin Laden died. There was no firefight, he didn't take a wife as a human shield. They shot at him while he was peeking out a door. Found him dead inside the door. Shot him a couple more times to make sure he was dead and then found his unarmed guns nearby.

Yea, that's true. I've seen some chatter about it being a potential war crime due to him being unarmed. But given the description of the raid and the fire they took on the second floor, it's not surprising that they shot into the third floor. Sounds completely justified to me

I like the part where he mentioned that he ate at Taco Bell after the mission.

Finished the book. I can't believe the government initially wanted to bomb the complex hard enough to make a 30-foot deep crater instead of sending in the SEALS  :dur

Identifying bin Laden's body from that would've been so easy!

Well, they had to exaggerate the story to address potential concerns from effete handflappers who would be wringing their hands over whether they should have captured him at all costs instead, leading to such a fucked situation (how well are those Gitmo trials coming along?).  Everyone wanted the fucker dead so I say good for them.

Thank god Obama was smart enough to realize SEALs were the best option right, my conservative buddy  :)

In the book he talks about how they we're told by some suit how they were not to kill bin Laden unless they were shot at. There were only a few shots fired at the SEALS during the raid, but they came from the guest house where the courier lived. bin Laden's son did have a round in his AK when they popped him in the head though.
