Well, she was actually one of my favorite teachers. I had her in 3rd grade, and when I went to 4th grade she pulled a Mr. Feeney and followed us to 4th grade, she wasn't my teacher in 4th, but she taught next door. My actual teacher had a huge boil on her head, was racist, and said something about me being black once. I told my parents and the whole thing turned into one huge scandal.

Carey has some good songs, but overall I'm just not a fan of that type of r&b. She's arguably the greatest modern singer - no one comes close to her range and power - and will always have my respect...but eh can't say I'm a fan. I'm more of a Whitney fan

I'm not seeing why mariah isn't considered black by wrath when folks with even lighter skin tone like Common are? Have you ever met a light skinned black person? Black people have different skin tones, it is like saying Russel Brand isn't white because he's not pale or don freckles.

That said it sucks that when someone looks a specific way people claim them as their own if they're mixed. Rashida Jones for instance. But people are going to do that and in some cases it is less about physical features and more about culture. When I think of Mariah, I deffo tie her to black culture more so than mainstream white culture. If Mariah identifies with it who is it to say she's not black? I mean, she sure as shit doesn't look white. Girl looks like a prettier version of my grandma, same skin tone and hair color (which I'm sure is dyed like my grandma's). Is my grandma not black? On Saturday night, members of City Hall and the journalists who are paid to maintain an adversarial relationship with City Hall engaged in their annual display of public onanism. As part of the Inner Circle dinner, a video was produced showing members of the City Hall press corps performing a Gangnam Style parody of the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy that the city is currently defending in court.

The skit, if you can sit through more than 10 seconds of it, features the New York Post's CIty Hall Bureau Chief, David Seifman, being stopped and frisked for drinking a large soda. Here's the video, with the complete lyrics at bottom:
