you posted , on GAF, that you called it on your site

then i went to your site....

Ah, the "parody" thread exit! Oh Andrex... never mind, i'm sure you can wheel that out when Wii U starts to look ancient within the first few months of it's life. "yeah, but... this is just a parody of next gen! ... those textures are clearly being ironic!"

WiiUggers must be devestated by the news that MH3GU runs at 1080P/30fps - i wonder how that will wash with the 3DS/45fps version? won't there be some coordinate munfing?

Upscaled 3DS games clipping out at that rate has to be a disappointing reality check surely?

Does the Wii U have any games that hit that 1080P/60fps bench that it was -definitely- going to hit?  (outside of the dashboard) ?

Dunno. Rayman maybe?

And Capcom and MH aren't exactly known for great handheld-to-console ports. That it's 1080p at all is a blessing from based Mikami.

- Press Zl at any time to bring up the touchscreen keyboard.

- USB keyboards supported, voice chat up in the air.

A couple quick notes about the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. First, the controller is a big help. The touchscreen features a fully customizable menu setup, making it essentially a massive Nintendo 3DS. Second, I know that it's possible to play Monster Hunter with only one analog stick, but the Wii U GamePad's second stick is a huge help. With the second stick, much of the frustration I had felt from using the d-pad to aim my bow in the 3DS version evaporated. Monster Hunter on 3DS is compatible with the Circle Pad Pro, so it's possible that frustration could be alleviated with the extra hardware.

It shouldn’t be fun, yet it is. The amount of dedication required to properly fight colossal monsters in inhospitable environments requires a large amount of patience, time and dedication. Invest enough to succeed and Monster Hunter’s rewards are plentiful. It’s a game that gives you little freely, and in that sense, makes any success feel like it’s earned instead of an eventuality.

Take the Brachydios, for example. His forearms are coated with a greenish goo that when slammed on the ground forms pools that, after a brief delay, explode. He charges, crashes his fists against the ground, emits area of effect explosive blasts and whips around his tail. If you get hit with goo, you’ll need to roll or use Deodorant to cleanse the effect or you’ll explode too. Fighting him, like with all Monster Hunter foes, is a nonstop contest of positioning, pattern recognition and fast response, a frantic dance where any significant lapse in concentration can necessitate a full mission restart.

Monster Hunter puts you in the role of a--get this--hunter as you explore the countryside and battle vicious monsters in pursuit of powerful items and piles upon piles of loot. The action RPG has everything from the Wii's Monster Hunter Tri, plus fifty percent more content, by way of additional monsters, items, and weapon classes.

The new weapon classes include the Dual Sword, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, and Switch Axe. :dur The Bowgun from the previous title has been split into two separate classes, the Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun, for a grand total of twelve weapon options. The weapons all have varying attributes attached to them that affect your movement, attack power and special abilities. For example, the Dual Sword is incredibly quick and requires close-range strikes, while the Heavy Bowgun can do massive damage from a distance. Whatever your preferred playstyle, one of the weapon types is bound to float your monster-slaying boat.

Not upscaled, uprezzed (to 1080p.) No AA is lame and the textures are horribad but even DC says it looks good in motion. :teehee

And some things do seem to have some improved textures but that seems to be few and far between.

I'm just glad it's not blurry bloomy 360p mess like Tri on Wii. That game had great graphics for a Wii game but it was obscured by too much bloom and not enough resolution.

Capcom today confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U system and Nintendo 3DS will bring the battle to retail stores in North America on March 19, 2013 and across Europe on March 22, 2013. The full game will also be offered for digital purchase on both systems during this launch timeframe and the Wii U game will fully support the voice chat functionality available on that system. For hunters looking to embark on their journeys sooner, free playable demos on the Wii U system and Nintendo 3DS will be available on February 21.

In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, players take on the role of a hunter sent to explore a settlement within the Monster Hunter universe, completing quests on their journey to seek and slay monsters while improving their skills and earning equipment upgrades. With many challenging monsters and over 200 quests, the latest addition to the series is set to be the most expansive offering to date. The game can be played alone, online (up to four players) on the Wii U system, or locally using up to four Nintendo 3DS systems or a combination of up to three Nintendo 3DS systems and one Wii U system.

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD

Those demos... gonna play them nonstop.

WTF is this "launch timeframe" BS for the digital release?

No duh? Lol.

Still, 1080p is much better than the 3DS and Wii managed (the Wii was even like 360p to boot, lol.)

At 45fps it's definitely much more of an improvement technically over Tri on both 3DS and Wii U, which is what I care about.

1080p is pointless if its a variable rate chugfest - sub 30fps in the village , variable elsewhere from "oh almost 60" to "um, is this hitting 20?!" - 3ds is much much much more stable - combined with the smaller screen it looks much better.

I still don't know why I bothered with 3G/U - should have held off for 4
