They should've delayed this and made it a launch title for PS4/Nextbox. Launching a new IP in a crowded genre on saturated hardware with no immediately distinguishable features in one of the busiest months for releases is insane.

Wow, so they retooled it into the most generic looking crap possible. I mean I'm not sure who would have bought the TF2 looking cartoony game, but this just looks like this gen's stereotype come to life. It kind of sums up this gen actually.

as for the game that art change was dissapointing imo

also Insomniac has been getting reamed by GAF lately and that's without the sony fans (though they are not there to defend them either   :lol)

I never really saw what was great about Insomniac anyway.
The Ratchet and Clanks were varied, fun shooter/platformers with a lot of toys to play with.  But yeah, they were mostly just a reliable dev with consistent ability to make good, if not great, games frequently and on time.  I think the desire to keep up that pace under different and not-conducive conditions resulted in a general dip in quality.

Resistance 1 was good shit, why can't they go for that setting again? Something to keep the fans happy.

The weapons look cool and all but holy crap this is generic:

http://www.gametrailers.com/full-episodes/6kgfqw/gt-tv-fuse

I'm surprised Geoff remembered anything other than "Fuse".

Insomniac is going to learn the hard way what happens to B+ level developers that don't have a hive protecting them.

Worse off is that not only did they lose the SDF, they also lose Sony's marketing. While it's true SCE pretty much DGAFed about Ratchet All 4 One (with good reason), and sent Resistance 3 to the scrap heap it's still more than what this game's gonna get. EA didn't even feel it was important enough to show at Gamescom. To them, its' announcement was just another Thursday ...

I have a fondness for the Resistance games in the same way I have a fondness for schlocky sci-fi/horror movies. Resistance 3 is a legit good game. This...looks like one of those Korean F2P shooters.

But even then it was nowhere near as venomous as it is right now and i guess the style change in overstrike is the thing that broke the camel's back so to speak.

Plus they still had some sony fans in their corner but now its focus test distinguished mentally-challenged fellows who went to play the game and "loved it" and fucking Loudninja, everyone else has seemingly jumped ship

The art style change is probably meaningless. Whether you prefer realistic style graphics or ratchet and clank whimsy style graphics, the game probably plays close to what it always was. The dumb thing was to show off that early trailer with those cartoony style graphics with no real gameplay. That's why the fanboys are backlashing. Because their whimsy dreams have been dashed.

If it had a PC version I might look into it during a Steam sale, Insomniac has been fairly good in the past at making cool weapons.

The more I watch this trailer, the more is just looks like a generic TPS! The first Overstrike trailer had so much personality, so much creativity in a world of dark and gritty FPS games. It looks as though Insomniac Games have given in to the demographic that stands out the most today (AKA the Call of Duty demographic) and have completely re-designed Overstrike to fit that loop. Who is to blame for this? EA perhaps? We'll never know. I do know one thing: THIS IS IN NO WAY AN "EVOLUTION"!

No, Fersis wasn't too obnoxious but he was still a big ol' sfag.  I just remember he was one of the most hyped up over Insomniac's B+ level wares on the PS3 and I wondered what he thought now that they've tainted themselves by going multiplatform.
