Why does Facebook functionality suck?

I'm talking basic stuff here, I uploaded some pics from my phone, and now I can't move them to another album because it was a "multi picture upload". Is this the middle ages?

Also, you can no longer create albums when uploading from a phone.

Lets not even get started on the "chat" and how it works on mobiles.

Facebook is fine for me, but all I use it for is browsing the news feed - I stopped paying attention to apps, new features, etc. a long time ago, and rarely post much myself beyond the occasional like or comment

Android App is equally bad. If you tap an event, it actually sends you to the browser because events are not supported by the app. And if you search for events, it shows events in the future, but not those happening on the same day (except for birthdays), wtf is up with that.

I wouldn't have a Facebook account if it weren't for the fact that friends tend to use it to set up invites for parties, hanging out, and hell, even wedding invites.

It's a waste of time and to be honest, Facebook has been on such a slide that it is ripe to be taken over by some other service.  A shame that most of them are crap (yes, even Google+)  Due to the Facebook stock cratering, I expect more bullshit in the coming months to prove that they're a strong advertising/info harvesting company.  If you don't need an account, I wouldn't bother at this point.

Latest iOS rev of Facebook prevents it from screen-rotating. Apparently this is to provide faster performance.

...too bad none of their high-paid, genius programmers have ever had enough friends to need to type a response to something in portrait orientation's narrow keyboard.
